In a game where voice chat simply is not necessary to succeed (people do just fine without it so suggesting otherwise is a complete lie so don't bother), getting mad because people choose not to use it is ridiculous, worse yet assuming its some "basic requirement" and that people who choose not to are "lazy", is in fact elitist, duh.

It's also not natively supported, and no one needs to go out of their way to listen to idiots chew potato chips in their ear all day because they think chat somehow makes their party better when it doesn't.

My wife plays on a PS3 and she dodges AOE better than anyone in our FC, so anyone saying that just sucks and has nothing to do with the system.

Edit: @ Battlewrench I figured as much, just wanted to reiterate to squash any false belief about PS3 dungeon performance. ^^

Must of had some bad experiences with a VoIP. Generally at least in my fc push to talk is mandatory so you wouldn't hear that potato chip guy.Again peps can play the game how they want and should seek like minded peps to play with. For us anyways using a VoIP to communicate is a lot more fun and a bit quicker to communicate when something in the game requires a quick communication. With a VoIP you don't have to take your eyes off your character and look at a chat that you may not notice scrolled up or down some. Also atleast for me anyways I get to know my fc mates a bit better.

While content may not require a VoIP as you say, but it really helps out say like on Titan with a person calling out the rotation or if something goes sour you can quickly modify your pre determined strat to get the kill. Heck even in 4 mans with my fc we can chat while we do another mind numbing ak or wp and help the run seem atleast a little bit less boring.

Especially when the game I want to play is also available on a system that I already own. I could buy that new computer, but then I would have to take money out of the account I set up to save for college for my children. Sorry boys, daddy wanted to play video games so you can pay for your own college. Or I could take money from my rainy day fund. Sorry boys, daddy can't afford to fix the roof because he would rather be playing video games.

Do you see what I'm getting at here? When you move out of your parents' home, and provide for yourself and your family completely, without aid from your parents in any way, there are far more important things to spend your money on, or put it away to save for. Why would I spend a few thousand bucks on a computer that would mostly be used for MS office and internet surfing, when i could just as easily play this game on a system I already own and be quite happy with it?

So, the next time you feel the need to belittle someone because they choose to play on PS3 instead of PC, maybe you should ask yourself if maybe playing a video game in full resolution/graphics mode might not be the most important thing in that person's life. The happiness and security of my family always comes before leisure activities that I can live without.

Nobody really cares why you are playing on PS3. It's just the cool (and stupid) thing to do to laugh at those who do and question why. Now here's a question: why do you care what they think? Why even announce that you're on PS3? (outside of a request to jump on voice chat anyway)

I'm not saying this to be a jerk, just to offer constructive advice. You can ignore what 99% of people say because most of it, especially on the internet is worth less than the fecal matter you flush down the toilet on a daily basis. Obviously I'm being facetious about the 99% thing... but think about what people say before you decide it's worth replying to, thinking about or being annoyed by. The dude telling me that if I change my rotation this way or that can improve my dps or let me move around more to avoid stuff is trying to be helpful. The idiot that says "lol why would you play with such crappy graphics" is not worth your time.

Don't give the idiots out there the power to ruin your day.

The only time I announce I'm on PS3 is if I'm in Castrum and everybody is too busy being a speed demon to notice that I'm still loading. So I announce it in hopes they don't pre-maturely engage the boss and lock me out..
