Unable to download patch files?

these are the errors I'm getting, and I'm a little in the dark here. Let me explain the backstory here a bit, I bought the game for my friend after he played around on my ps4, he enjoyed it enough to go and download the demo which installed and patched fine. Now we're running into these issues with the retail version of the game I gifted through steam and neither of us have any idea as to what needs to be done in order to fix this. The steps we have already tried are using a fresh install of the game, downloading patch directly wired, and turning off all background processes, none of which have seemed to work.

Is this issue maybe related directly to the steam client? if so, could simply removing it from the steam folder and trying admin controls work? Neither of us have tried contacting steam yet, as we are both still hopeful that we can get the game working and not need to go down the route that is steam customer care lol.

If you using PC, you need to restart the windows a and get ready to give up your first born to get patch.
If you using the PS4, you totally screwed and must re-install the game then give up your 2nd born.

The truth, your children are safe but welcome to the Nightmare of the scorned few. You will have to keep retrying and restarting... On pc it's a bit easier, but on Ps4, it's a nightmare if you don't keep connection or if it loses sync. I basically had to update a 16gig re-install and it took a week, which was quicker than the previous install that took a little over 3 weeks.

Speeds drop and it drops connection so you should really re-think... do you really want to get invested in the game.

There is a thread on the forum I was just reading about the patch issues. Just keep re-trying and you should be set in no-time...this year at least.
