yeah to always get it you need 102%....according to the logic displayed here.

Jokes aside it could be a pug where it shows your gather % is 100 but code wise might be lower? I.E 95%? that's the only reason I could think of.

That's disgusting.

I noticed I missed a lot too when trying to get collectibles.
At 92% ~ 95% chance, it'd miss at least once, sometimes twice, every 5 attempts.

This has happened consistently while I leveled up my miner and botanist.

So the in game information is a lie. The 95% they show is more like 75% or even less.

But now... to miss at 100% gathering chance... i dont even................

My base is 96%. 96 + 5 = 101%. Rounding can't be the problem here.

now THAT is fucked up. id table flip.

This exactly. When I was leveling up all my gatherers to 50 in 2.X, more times than not I would miss far more attempts than what you would expect from having a very high gather success percent. When I first started gathering I thought maybe it was unusually bad luck/coincidence, but it happened so often I came to the conclusion that it's rigged.

The hardest part is that devs look in the eyes and outright lie about those numbers, just once i would love to get those devs apologize for all the misses we have made. I've always suspected that the gear we are wearing and their stats distribute the misses we MUST make on some on long graph in randowm manner, and the percentage displays the misses we'll make on that graph only from portion of it, now when we use skills to upp those % they do not incrase the chance we will hit with real smaller pool of random nubers, but rather shift your hits from whole graph into the smaller portion so effectivly there becomes time where you'll miss not because it proced for you to miss but rather youll will miss no matter the percentage dispalyt 1 to 99. When we hit 100% i suspect it rewrites all the misses in the pool to hits.
So as it is for you OP, i strongly thinnk that devs simply forgot to add some string of code to that collectible to rewrite all the misses in the pool for hits.
Then again it all could be my imagination
