Can we replay mission battles for fun?

Having rushed through a bunch of the mission battles (Diabolos was 80% dead by the time I finished my CoP cutscene) so I could participate in events, etc....

I am wondering if there is some way of replaying quest and mission battles (without any loot dropping) on say a different job, or solo, or with a weird low-level character set up - and I don't mean soloing a dual boxed character through missions to get chance to do battles on my main.

If not, am I nuts for wanting something like this? I would love the chance to say try to solo dynamis lord on pup just for fun in the future without having to go through some rigamarole...

It would be cool if any battle was doable (if people wanted) without any applicable loot dropping or anything. Heck even having to do a short magian trial to get the key item that lets you do the battle/s would be fine.

Can only replay story add-on missions. Everything else requires someone who actually needs the fight to initiate it.

I think this is something that should be added! a lot of the wings of the goddess boss fights were so much fun, and it would be nice if we could do them again without needed someone to be on the fight. (because honestly, who does wotg? ;p)

I agree with the whole no reward aspect of it, but it would be super fun to try new strategies and what not!

Yeah this is what I had in mind. Would be cool if you could select caps voluntarily too.

Agree. Being able to simply chose an old mission fight for fun would be great. Although I could see ways it could be abused by allowing you to try different job combos endlessly.

if they don't have a reward for completing it again, what would there be to abuse? :3

I think this would be a wonderful addition. Some days you just want to go clobber a certain monster or battle, and it'd be nice to have that option available.

Make it relevant again to try and beat other's fastest times. I'd like that.

Apparently, they're already working on something like this?

It would be interesting to re-do various story fights. Particularly the ones with special dialogue that I might have missed the first time around or something.
