Did you mean to say these spells will no longer be "ineffective"?
Or are they just not going to work for processing red/grellow/blue triggers any more?

I'm thinking it might have been a simple typo. Any dev want to double check that info?
He means to say: "These spells will no longer be used to proc weakness."

Which is good, because they're too hard to proc with.

    Suck it, lol.

Actually, at least now you won't have to sit there and hold a mob forever while the Blu tries over and over to get 1,000 Needles to land.

Yes, 1,000 needles was the greatest pain. It's a longass recast and then when it goes off you have a high chance of it resisting or a chance of the mob casting a spell/using tp. Holding the NM too long can also cause a wipe or half the pty/alliance to wipe and sometimes your group looks a little goofy if they're wiping to a fairly weak NM just because they're holding the NM too long until they get all the procs they need.

Adjusting some of the Blue Magic trigger spells is a nice touch, but what, if anything, can SE do about NMs that are simply immune to certain magics? It's frustrating to pop an NM like Durinn or Titlacauan only to face a darkness-element magic trigger. Those NMs are simply immune to spells like Drain, Aspir, and Dispel. And these are only two example - there are plenty more.

Since most of us in Abyssea prefer working in small teams (like Salvage), we're already used to using unorthodox job combinations like subbing BRD on BLM. Someone mentioned subbing BLU a few posts earlier.

It is possible to adjust yellow!! spell triggers so that they trigger even when spells are resisted? I /slap myself every time I pop Titlacauan near Darksday.

Sorry about the confusion in regards to the updated dev1003 thread. We updated it to be a bit clearer.

To clarify, the spells listed will no longer be used in attempts to proc that sweet sweet grellow. Essentially we will be reducing the number of BLU spells needed for any given element from 2 to 1.

I agree with that, it does seem kind of funny how even though you're triggering a "weakness" they are resistant to it. How is it possible for a creature to be immune to a weakness. There are three fixes I could see coming to mind, One could be that they create it so that the enemies weakness is always 100% accuracy when you hit them with it. The one you mentioned where the weakness triggers even if it's resisted. Or they could just omit those weaknesses from certain mobs so that they can' ever have those weakness. So if Durinn is resistant to dark, just remove it's chance of having a dark weakness so during the days Lightning-Light-Dark-Fire-Earth, dark will never be a potential weakness trigger for Durinn

Well reducing them to 1 is kinda cool, but really SE.... You should of kept Regurgitation, there is really nothing wrong with that spell, and honestly its possibly one of the most frequently used spells. Its Maelstrom that nobody likes lol.

the only reason why it was probably taken out, is that it's one of the mid to high damaging water spell for (Magical) Blu. With a low cost might I add.
