If we're talking about the whole series as a whole, I think it's even simpler than any of that stuff you posted. They should just stop moving the series towards straight up action and put the RPG back into RPG.

Having just bought XVI and playing through it, While it's a fun game to play, it's an Action Game that has a FF skin thrown on it. So totally agree.

Yes, I mean there isn't necessairly anything wrong with that, but it seems like they've taken from it that's what everyone wants. There are still plenty of people out there looking for the "good ol days" when you didn't need nonstop action to get people's attention.
