    New Buffoon's Collar?


    It would be nice to have a higher level replacement for this lv.5 piece of neck equipment... not sure how many jobs are running around with such low level gear at level 99 and still use it actively...

    With all the skill and ability additions to puppetmaster, it can be thought that overloading isn't so much of an issue anymore. Though we won't rule out the suggestion completely, we feel it might be better to add something new that everyone would be more excited about.

    Why would you need a replacement for it? What's wrong with macroing it in if it's still effective, just have it macroed into maneuvers. I mean on THF I still use level 14 Acid Bolts and stuff.

    The bolded bit is a gross understatement Camate. Please do not have the dev team waste time on this unneeded request when that effort can be spent elsewhere. Like on say providing a secondary way of getting the harder to obtain attachments?

    I personally have overloaded on PUP two times since i got my Empy +1 body finished and i was truthfully going all out on BLM-spec at the time so that was to be expected. I stopped overloading period when i completed my +2. Throw in Cooldown(which i STILL think was an unneeded addition really) and overloading is a non-issue for any PUP that is even remotely trying.     Reiterating for clarity: Please do not burden the dev team with the OP's request Camate.

    I'm all for shiny stuff, don't get me wrong, but i'd rather new stuff be 'new' and not a repack of something that does not need to be fixed. Especially with the size of the dev team as limitted as it appears to be.

    I mean hey, if you do use one alot, i'm in no way saying you shouldn't-its your character. But having an already bare-bones team even look into updating a non-visible piece of gear that works fine lvls 5~99 already BECAUSE its lvl 5? That just seems a frivolous waste of time to me.

    And yes i see the irony of calling anything pertaining to a MMO frivolous. Don't mean it ain't tho.

    personally i'd like to see a new buffoon's collar with an effect like the AFv1 gloves, in that in addition to reducing overload rate it slightly increases the secondary stat bonuses from using maneuvers

    obviously a slight boost in maneuver duration(+5~ seconds) would be too much to ask considering what the developers have said previously, but i'd be happy with some sort of additional boost to maneuvers outside of simply overload reduction

    I agree everyone is entitled to their opinion--hence one of the purposes of this forum is to share your personal insights--saying that: It is my opinion that different play styles require different attention; some folks may overload more often than others for varying reasons--just because YOU stopped overloading--doesn't mean someone else couldn't benefit from the OP's original suggestion... Sooooo, Camate... thanks for your feedback and I hope you guys give this suggestion more than a once-over.

    Is what the OP asked for.

    Much maligned, way over-worked, and laughably understaffed-that's the current FFXI development team. And the OP is asking these guys to come up with a new item to replace another older item because it is equip-able lvls 5+. Its not broken, it doesn't lose potency in the lvls 5~99, and its still equip-able at PUP99.

    I wouldn't have said word one if the OP had at least asked for some additional effects added to the proposed rep neck-piece. But that was not the case. The OP is asking for a new item whose only difference from an already ingame item is having "Level (5+X) PUP" in the item description.

    Don't know about you, but i personally would like the few devs we have less left to actually fix varying aspects of the game that need fixing over superfluous requests like the OP's.


    Also learn to read before you get indignant xiozen. While i think its silly for a PUP99 to need to use a Buffoon's collar at lvl 99, i have nothing against the item itself or the use of it.

    Sorry i didn't see this post before i replied to xiozen.

    This is what i'm talking about here, not a thing wrong with what this person is asking for. A new item that that has similar functionality to and an older item, but improves on it.

    That's awesome. The request in the OP? Not so much
