    Cruor Burning into Massive gil

Ive recently noticed people taking their mules and main chars to abyssea, burning their cruor on armor, then npcing it for gil. This seems ok normally but i noticed some people are doing it on a large scale and making massive amounts of gil.

Is this against the terms of service? I know someone whos made a ton of gil doing this with his three mules, all he does is exp in abys and npc the gear. I told him it sounds exploitish and he better be careful before he gets SALVAGE'd, but hes certain its ok

has anyone else noticed this becoming a trend and surely this isn't okay with the tos right? Curious is all. The Gm i talked to seemed to think it was a non-issue as well lol

People have been doing this since Abyssea was introduced.

Only way around it would be to either A) nerf crour gains into oblivion and thus make Voidwatch impossible. Or B) make the items non-sellable, which they already said their not going to do.

If SE didn't want us doing it they would have nerfed the sale prices a long time ago. It may still be incoming. I'm sure they keep up with that kind of data but exploit? No. They probably approve of it so people have less reason to get shady and buy gil.

BG discussed this potential problem here a while back.

Mojo made some good points about how gentle inflation in the economy wasn't actually a bad thing. At the time I disagreed, but in retrospect I think he was dead right. By giving people an NPC-able alternative, SE has added some stability to the economy and have (it seems weird to apply this to an MMO) significantly increased the social mobility.

In 2007, the best way to make money was to already have money and spend it wisely. Also, a lot of things had substantial startup costs before they would start turning a profit. For instance, one of the most profitable things in the game to do was Tier 0 cursed item synthing. Say you burn 100k per NQ Zenith Mitts, but make 20mil profit per HQ 1% of the time. If you have enough gil to invest (read: over 10mil), then this isn't a problem for you. In the long run you stand to double your money, so it is a great investment. It's absolutely horrible for a starting or more casual player though, who is unlikely to ever get the skills (high level clothcraft) or gil (15~20mil) or time (100 synths takes a long time and non-stackable ingredients suck) for such a venture.

Regardless what people say, Crafting is not entirely dead and it is possible to make a decent profit if you're willing to level Synergy and use a few of your old crafting mules or something. Still, it is very easy to make gil by farming Dynamis, Limbus, Salvage, Cruor, etc. Heck, go do Campaign and sell Voiddust. There are no real barriers to entry when it comes to farming. You will get better as you make gil and buy better gear. Still, even if your starting performance is only half what it will be, it will be good enough to make substantial gil. Not like, "Oh hey, I can buy food now! " gil like I used to do BCNMs for. Like, "The most expensive thing on AH is worth less than a week of farming" amounts of gil.

You want to be rich? It's as easy as persistently farming anything of value. I can't see this Abyssea Cruor NPCing option as anything short of intentional. It is the alternative, and sets the prices for the others.

NPCing armor is kinda dumb when chocobo blinkers exist.

200,000 cruor is worth a maximum of 529,000 gil (with current cell prices). If someone chooses to turn their hard earned cruor into gil rather than upgrade their atmacites, buy brews, etc., then that's their call. Nothing infringing about that. Though I would question their reasoning for not upgrading their atmacite first as Voidwatch is easily the much more effective way to make money.
