if there's like a ls group of 10 people or something stupid (cus abyssea is hard!) then I'll ask how many more they need for a timed NM, cus screw trying to outclaim 10 people. If it's a pop NM and I have other things I can do I'll ask. If I'm just there for that I'll prob just try and pop anyway, cus claiming ???s isn't hard.

You answered your own question there. It's not about difficulty, it's about increasing chances of getting your objective obtained quicker.

Some of us also farm multiple popsets so we can blow through them all in one go. Not everyone wants to do everything in bite-sized groups that take FOREVER to kill some of these NMs, holding things up for the rest of us.

Is it really that bad that people like to do things with friends, especially if it happens to be more than 3? That doesn't necessarily mean they can't do it with less. No wonder XI loses new players quickly.

Btw, Quiet time in most FFXI servers is around 6-10am PST.
