You need to read better.
I didn't ever say "be the best", I said that I try to be the best I CAN BE.
I have fun playing the way I do, and if you want to play and limit your performance, knock yourself out~

here is the thing my performce may be infact better then yours. here is what you didn;t read. Those who fear failur do not learn. if you 100% spells you cast spells less often, and unless your capped you tend to have lower skill levels. personally speaking. I have tried gear swaping before and tbh I never noticed a difference in my performance. And this was coming from capped skills as a rdm. Sorry but try to be respectful in your words. And to people having different play styles. You really had no right to say the above that can be see as a insult.
Pot calling the kettle black, this is a huge klaxon going off right there!
If you're going to talk about "right and wrong" when it comes to debate, then I wholly suggest you go back and read every single on of your posts regarding the SE Transfer / Payment system debate, in which you are your own side and literally shut off any other opinion and pass it off as "dumb, stupid or childish".
Opinions are opinions. Keep 'em that way.
Gear swaps and knowing when to is what allowed people to 6 man HNMs long before abyssea, were just good player took whole alliances to kill the same mob.
The whole it "didn't work for me" is not true, my macros been working just fine for 5 years sure other people's macros workng well too you did something wrong. Players that refused to make the most out of thier jobs are the ones that were left to body chunk sky, dyna and limbus in shout pick up LSes.
Not seeking out infomation is the down fall of all not just in the game in the rest of life too. You wouldn't start a career today with out training or seeking out how to improve your self would you (career not working at the 7eleven or wal-mart door greeter). When I was still working I would go eat at different place's and look up what other chefs were doing see what the current trends were, this is called research.
Can hardly call it a debate since it is so one-sided. I'm sorry.
Can you tell me what you see as an Elitist then? And don't say "you all" lol.
Also, did I ever say I haven't had any failures? I trial and error a lot, since I work with a small group of people. This also means that I also have to step up my game gear-wise and play-wise.

please tell me you guys know what a video game is and what fun is right? no neec to take a game seriously and make it overly complicated. And insult others for not playing how you want them to.
That is the one thing wrong with the ffxi community. People think they need to be epic to be considered a good player. Good players know what a game is, and what fun is. They are open minded and play win or lose. They fully understand that there is no such thing as wasting time on an mmo, since you waste time playing one. They understand that working as a team is better then being a solo performer.
gear swap for "ego stroking"?
gear swap is to make fights easier >.>
example:
i was duoing carabosse with a friend alot.
he was whm had cure potency set & enfeebling magic set.
examples:
he could get paralyze up all the time, carabosse muted me and i had shadows down, survived tornado II because it was paralyzed and this interrupted the spell, when a strong spell that didn't oneshot me hit me he could cure me to full hp pretty quick thx to cure potency set swap.
then he sold the whm gear (see this as full time use of cure potency set) because he didn't want to play the job mainly anymore.
we did carabosse again, he didn't get paralyze up anymore, this ended with mute + shadows down and the tornado II did oneshot me :x
another example for usefull gear swaps:
byakko whm + thf duo
thf needs gear swap there to max out ws dmg to make it possible to kill it before the whm runs out of mp.
a couple melee hits,tp-move, banishga-iii can eat the whm's mp pretty quick, that's why u want to gear swap to kill it fast.
now u see the point in gear swap? it can be the difference between win and fail
Edit: do u still need to target the person before <stal> works?

lol i was only comments on those who flung insults to get their point across. not everyone. Different thread is a different thread.
You figure people would understand that forums bring the worst outa ppl and take what is said with a grain of salt. If you take how I word my posts to seriously, then I feel for ya. I'm more or less just trying to drum up a good debate. But yes with a lil wenom since I read something I took a bit off offence to. But I have my reasons. If you can't debate or type with out insulting someone expect it right back. I just gave a 1 liner of an opion.
