Wrong. I've become a broken record but SE stated back when XIV was released they had plans to put FFXI there. Think about it logically. They wanted both games on the same system because there was going to be a discount for playing both. And it only makes sense to have all their games paid for on the same system. Other companies do it, it makes complete sense from a company standpoint to have all their billing come from the same source.
They probably didn't switch it right away because they had to set that plan aside while they focused on more important things, on top of FFXIV not going p2p right away so there was nothing to make them do it right away.
I've been saying for a few months now these major patches they've been doing for 14 make it seem like their goal was to fix it within the year and try to set it to p2p after that year was over. September is coming close (making it 1 year since they were supposed to have it go p2p). More than likely the real reason for the change now was to get ready for when 14 goes p2p so they have everything already on the same system. (with a few months of getting kinks out)
We are the guinea pigs. SE wants us to get everything sorted out before 14 hits p2p because they want as little issues with 14 as possible considering it's bad launch last year.
