To be honest, I don't even like riding chocobos if I can avoid it now, I prefer warping and using confluxes, and OP's lol. When I have to run I get bored and when I'm on a chocobo its kinda cool, but I get tired of it lol. Now it would be cool to have your own flying mount or a sailing mount type of thing, and I can see this being somewhat romantic for the couples of vanadiel. Yet I myself don't see a point to doin it, the only thing I would want is the ability to use OP's out of my Consulate at the top of Jueno, or a way to warp back to Windy with it.

But yeah, I'm asking about "new experiences" for us to partake in beyond just the status quo of what we're use to which equates to: hop on a chocobo -> move at enhanced movement speed (plus rock out to awesome chocobo theme music) -> zone into new area when I said,

"I simply wonder if there will be another means of "mounted transportation" in our Adventuring future that could perhaps elevate even further the experience of traveling from zone to zone efficiently while sight seeing."

It wouldn't take much more than some imagination to integrate some cool new experiences like gliding from one mountain ledge to another to reach certain spots within multi-layered zones similar to Ifrit's Cauldron or Riverne - Site #A01/B01, or perhaps even deeper more complicated levels like fighting while mounted while in certain situations and zones.

Chocobos are great for what they do, but Vana'diel continues to evolved and expand, so it would feel right if it's inhabitants found new ways to transport themselves around. Airships aren't the only flying things around after all!

I'd love to see some FFXI Warthogs running around! o.o They would most likely be meaner than tigers lol.

I'm guessing we'd have to consort the Vana'diel animal rights office for things like strapping guns to their back though. Unless your good buddies with Dr. Evil... cause that would be pretty cool to see. I'm guessing warthogs would be a Beastmen favorite in terms of mounts but no reason that we couldn't tame some for ourselves as well. Big ones for Galkas of course, and smaller piggies for tarus(they'd still look badass though). ^^

How come we don't have any pig-like creatures in FFXI? A Warthog NM the size of a buffalo would be epic.

I'll take whatever new experiences ya'll can muster, so if it's a raptor that's fine by me. Gonna have to start feedin' those light weights something serious though to accommodate for the likes of Galkas and Elvaans. o.o

As always, I'll take take the "we do not have any plans at the moment" part as a positive note to just wait and see what comes down the pipes in the coming years. This is always MUCH better to hear vs something like "This is not a direction the Dev Team wishes to go in", and such.

Yeah, I got the joke. My response was in the same tone.

And, nah, "we do not have any plans at the moment" means just that. Meaning future plans could in fact usher in such concepts. Just have to "hold on to your butts" and wait and see. What I posted above as the alternative response is the "nice way of saying no", with the "This is not a direction the Dev Team wishes to go in".
