(To the Dev) Name And Race Change Optional Services

We should have the options to purchase a race or name change for our characters. World of Warcraft offers these services for a small fee, it would be nice if I had the same options here in final fantasy XI . You can already change your names by switching servers but then you have to wait 90 days before you can return so I know this wouldn't be hard to do. I just wish we had the option without having to transfer servers. I don't want to leave my friends for 3 months. Please take this into consideration.

Yea, I've already started exercising more and going on a diet... I think the fact that I'm still a Galka is bogus... I should look like an Elvaan by now! I haven't eaten a mithkabob in years!

I wish you could downrate post like you can on the zam forums..

Yeah so we could downrate svengalis posts and threads of which there are hundreds of other posts/threads that are about the same thing (usually also started by svengalis). It was a corny joke man, lighten up.

So you want to change your characters's race? So basically you want to keep everything you've done with your old character on technically a new character? Is that what you are trying to say? I have no problems with name changes. But basically getting a new character while keeping all your gil, items etc. doesn't seem right to me.

You can change your name by deleting the character, creating a new one with the same name, then restoring the original character.

No we shouldn't. A permanent identity rather than a stable of alts is an important part of what makes this game different from other MMOs.

Also, if SE won't allow same sex marraiges in Vana'diel they certainly won't allow transsexual mithras.

I just want to change my name as I said in original post but it only makes since to offer a race change service to don't you think? I perfer hume and will stay that way.

It's not a new character it's just a race change, I don't see what the big deal is.

I wouldn't be opposed to changing hairstyle though, that would help freshen things up after a while and it doesn't affect anything or screw around with your character's existence in the world. Maybe they could even add some new ones (paid) to use in the service of changing your character's hairstyle (small fee).

I totally would love this idea. I actually still love my model on my mithra, but I've met wayyyy too many people who picked their race based on the lolbrady guide back when the game first came out. The guide made you believe that race actually mattered to a degree that if you wanted to be a thf you had to be mithra, if you wanted to be a bst definitely don't be a mithra, so one and so forth.

Now they've been stuck starting at the same toon for 9 years. I don't see anything wrong with wanting a change. And hey, who knows, I may get sick staring at this model sooner or later. I don't see any harm in allowing people to change it if after all this time they are just sick of looking at them.

I guess they could make it a 1 time only deal, or even better put a time limit on it (ie, can only do it once a year).
