Seriously SE fix emperyan relic drop rate...

So I'm not sure if I just have the worst luck ever, but I spend 10 (I'm not proud of this either) hours or more farming SMN relic feet (the armor) in Abyssea Vunkerl Inlet and not a single relic drop I'm not joking. What is up with the drop rate seriously? I couldn't believe it nor my friends. Is it just me or the drop rate is all broken...?

If you didn't get a single piece of af3 in 10 hours, you either took a lot of breaks or didn't do Amber lights at all.

I'm sorry sir but I did all the right things, Only breaks I took were to go get more stones for more time and every time I came back we caped amber lights. I'm aware of the lights...and again no real breaks...just went for more stones and came back in.

Just the fact that you had to go out and get more stones shows weren't doing "all the right things".

If you can't keep up w/ TEs, obviously a much slower killspeed, and over a period of 10 hours will make a large difference in total number killed/chances at stuffs.

No we were killing fast enough and caped amber light every time we came back, we had 2 nins and me as healer and the amount of mobs we killed and gold chest that dropped was ridiculous. Trust me we were doing things the right way...we did not wasted time and went straight to the point why is that so hard to believe?

Large chests have a higher likelyhood of key items and not feet. Only do 10 amber.

well i know that when i tried for my ninja feet i capped out amber and pearl both, but the funny thing to me was the higher the light i got the less i saw any chests. And the one that did drop were temp items or tons of "soothing light" chests.

30 pearl, 30 azure, 1 amber. Then kill realy fast. lol

Took me 3 nights and 13hrs (5hrs + 5hrs + 3hrs) to get my THF feet (had capped lights within 20min). My LS is still trying for DCN feet with occasional FCs in that zone, still no joy.

1 hour on blu soloing, smn and drg feet in 1 chest then blu (what i was there for) in another it really is just bad luck something we should all be used to. i mean really ffs people spent months, yeras even in hnms dynamis limbus salavge to get gear half this good. whaa whaa i spent X amount of HOURS doing something and it didnt drop whaa whaa if you want an FF game that does it all for you go play 12

Still to this day, after 10 years, i have not gotten either Mee Deggi's Ochimusha Kote or Lizzies Boots and trust me i killed them at least 100 times each.

Abyssea is slowly ruining the game, more and more people demanding easy mode. As if it was not easy enough already.

Eliminate the 2 nin's and grab a cataclysm pld and cataclysm pug trains with capped amber and azure ftw

the trick to getting af feet is ot NOT cap amber light.. if you cap amber you get mostly high end temps and KI's your best bet is to dio about 10 or so amber.. then you get tons of feet. thats how me and my husband duoed all my feet in attowa it took like an hr.

I think it's funny that one pair of feet shows up above all others...I would like them all to have the same drop rate. 10 RNG feet our of 15 is not cool, broseff.

Maybe that why me and my wife never get those after ~10 hours... We caped Azure 1st then working to cap pearl (that part was great since we get tons of chest and enough TE to keep it up.) I think why we didnt get any AF feet part was the amber light... we literaly caped them, thinking it will be the best thing to do. I guess we will try next time with only 5-10 amber at all and focussing on fast kill instead... Will come back with new about it.

(3 hour later) we did a quick run (me as NIN and my wife as DRG) we get 5 amber at start, seem no luck so we get get to 8 amber and got our 1st boots that way. I guest 5-10 amber light could be a good target to get AF3 boots. (of course, we capped pearl from chest drop rate, but we kinda been lazy on azure since we had few time for play eneway.)

i spent 3.5 hours last night wishing to get either my BLM, WHM, or THF feet. Left because i was tired with BLM, WHM, RDM, and MNK feet. Got the other two because everyone else in my 5 person party already. If no AF3 dropped then SOMETHING went wrong

i spent over 90 hours in vunkrel in parties / farming and only ever seen 1 set of dnc feet drop seen tons and tons of others drop but dnc is almost non existent :s kind of

sucks when u had seals for like 3 months lol

Well here's what happened. I tried the 10 amber lights way and I could say is the same thing as 30. The relic drop rate is just crappy. After a week of farming my boots they finally dropped at the last hour. I guess it's all a matter of luck, at the beginning we found about 3 relics DRG, BLU, and DNC with 10 lights, then more people came over and started getting more amber lights because they didn't listened to the 10 light theory and eventually capped lights. At the end we got 3 more relics NIN, SAM, and SMN. So I'm not sure how effective is these theories. Perhaps it is a matter of luck and crappy drop rate. Still I spent way too much time on this task, SE needs to review this.

did some run again and here my point of view:

10 light: we barely drop 1 boots in 2 hours... PUP
15 light: we droped 2 boots in 2 hours... DRG DNC
15-20: (lost count) got 4 boots in 5 hours... DRG DNC SAM DNC
20 light: DNC droped again in 2 hous...

So far I think 10-20 light is pretty much good for droping stuff. Also today we focused only on Amber and Pearl; drop rate of the brown chest was better than the day we over caped azure.

Now, if the /"$%in NIN boots could drop...

I swear that Unkai Sune-Ate have THE worst drop rate in Vunkerl. I've yet to see one pair in those gold chests. The rest have dropped at one point or another, but the Sune-Ate just don't seem to drop. It's absolutely nuts.

Misareaux gold pyxides rarely seem to drop under any circumstances. I'm lucky that the Creed Sabatons dropped after hours of farming. I still need the Cothurnes and Ocreae from that area.

Of the Attohwa AF3, I'm mostly interested in the Sabots, Poulaines, and Gaiters. 2 of those 3 seem to have reasonable drop rates.

I will say the same about Iga (NIN)... got all other jobs some twice and sme triple but NIN never drop yet...

just a matter of luck i guess. i remember complaints like this when everyone was all into dynamis... just gotta get lucky

yeah.. random is random--and when you are talking <1% drop rate for one specific item, you have 2 strikes against you before you even step up to the plate. One of the key factors in armor drop rates is the state of the Pulse Martello. I forget the exact number--but I think it was the last core in the list. If they don't have at least one of those cores, drop rates will suck. People need to do Bastion and Resistance Ops to secure the Martello cores and increase the drops.

Already have my DRG seals, so been trying to get my feet--only ones left to get from Vunkerl. 9-10 hours the last two days soloing on NIN: 3 SMN, 1 DNC. The most productive time was around JP Prime time (they do a lot of Bastion stuff). Build my lights fast off NM/Ephemerals. Once I get my 10-12 amber going, I just go all out kiling crap as fast as I can--my hp stays around 50% or less almost the whole time. Eventually wind up with about 40 Az/P and 20 Amber.

Last night after about 2 hours of slaughtering and no feet dropping in that session, I got frustrated and grabbed some more VNM/Ephem and ramped up my amber as I was down to about 40 minutes time. Just to see how it would affect things, I ran it all the way to 45 Amber and got a lot of pop/KI's. Got lucky and nabbed a diamond ring with +7 INT, +12 Ice Resist, +2 resist Silence. While I was happy to get the ring...was still annoyed that I can get a decent tier R/E like that and not get any @#$@#$@#$ feet after roughly 3 hours.

But, that's the way the game is... 1/100 chance to get that ONE item you want.

We had time today so we get on a new strategy:

1- Capped Azure light at start for temp item and TE (killing the Ephemereal mob for faster result)
2- Work on Pearl light for better drop rate
3- worked On Amber for 10-20 light

In 3 hours, we droped DNC, COR and FINALY NIN!!!

War/sam, Blm, thf or blu, and whm and they're yours in under 3 hours.

roughly a 6 hour stint tonight in Vunkyrl. Pulse Martello had 1 #06 core and 3 #07 cores (so chest spawn rate and treasure were enhanced) when we started. I started the session solo, and picked up a few from LS after I killed a few VNM's for Pearl only (no azure/amber started yet, just pearl). The core of us stayed almost the entire session (two left about 1 hour before I quit), while ls mates came and went to grab the unclaimed pieces as they fell. For the last hour I was back to soloing, and in that last hour I got 3 more pieces to drop by myself.

We had every piece to fall EXCEPT DRG, SCH, SAM (I needed DRG). Every other job dropped at LEAST twice--several dropped 3 times. And it wasn't for a lack of kill rate--made 20 merits 2/3 the way through the run. We killed over 200 pucks during windsday to finish a magian for one member--actually finished it with almost 4 game hours still on the day. We literally owned the camp for that one hour. I'm running out of friends who need gear from that zone or are wiling to come help just for the sake of helping me out. This is the ONLY AF3 piece I have left to get from that zone. Maybe it is something stupid like some mobs simply won't drop certain pieces or something...IDK, I ALWAYS get SMN to drop with little effort (4 fell tonight in fact).

Baffles me how SE can declare the drop rates are "balanced". I know, random is random, but this is ridiculous...

Anyway, guess I'll be back at it again tomorrow.

why not the job that gets the kill makes the type of feet drop if you want warrior feet to drop then warrior gets the kill shot in if you want blm then blm get the kill shot smn ect ect that would solve all i had the same argument in dynamis why not the mob in dynamis drop the af of there job normal mobs give a 25% rate and notorious mobs a 75% rate for there jobs its so simple and solves all

Maybe just an elevated priority, maybe equivalent to a TH1 or TH2 effect. A lot of times it winds up being a small group getting most of the kill shots.

I'm thinking maybe a stricter probability model--something that removes the piece from the pool for a while after it drops. It's really annoying to get the same pieces on sequential drops. Removing it from your pool for an hour or two would increase the chance for others to drop. If this were going on last night, we would have kept PUP, DNC, and SMN from the drop pool for several hours and increased the chances for DRG, SAM, SCH to drop for a while.
