Empyrean Weapons upgrades.

Good day Development team. Just inquiring on what will be done to increase the availability of Heavy Metals Plates/Pouches, Riftdross, and Riftcinders? I feel like there is not enough of these around anymore and when fighting VWs, it seems that the Riftdross, Riftcinders, and Heavy Metal Plates/Pouches drop rates are scarce.

Could it be put under consideration to added these important items to Abyssea and/or Hard Mode Mission Battles? Thanks for listening.

Yes please add these to every battle and event kill, i farmed for over a year just to get 400 and give up. now might be starting over but sick of farming the same kills or the same bad drop rates and the long line of 1500 is just way tooooo much to get. and the price has jumped from the old 80k to almost 200k each. just out of reach besides farming them

They should really just tone down the requirements overall.

I wanna see them add these to the list of things you can buy with copper vouchers.

On what server are they almost 200k? O.o
On Asura (Usually the most expensive server) They range from 100k-120k

On Bahamut 150k is the going price, though there's always the "idc how long it sits there, I want MOAR" people who price at 160-200k, and I'm sure they're bought once someone's close.

Think a friend of mine may of talked about your server the other day. Mentioned he saw someone with 1200 HMPs priced at 120k on another server, though he didn't specify. He was mildly tempted to transfer for em for his Ochain. :P

And even 120k is on the higher end. (You can find people shouting "HMPx10 100kea" regularly.)

Yeah, it gets frustrating trying to collect these items. I do like the idea of getting them with Copper Vouchers.

Yup, the good ole empy 95 trial, blocking people since...whenever it was. I done lost track of my years at this point. I'm amazed they were so willing to leave that trial behind after it proved such a failure. A 119 empy is about on par with owning a 75 mythic these days, I figure. All because they went overboard with the last two trials to try to warrant their existence in comparison to the costs of the other two. Even just 500 HMP as a requirement would have disqualified most casual players and kept them rarer than not :x

I don't mind empy being 200M each, since Mythic was more expensive and empy is supposed to be an expensive legendary like relic/mythic.

The real issue is, besides harp almost every empy are fairly weak compare with relic and mythic. It doesn't really worth that much when you can get better weapon such as mythic, or get relic which is cheaper.

mmm some empys became a bit more usefull again after the WS update. some mythics "lost" attack power (as in they gained nothing out of the update). I would actually say that most Relics are looseing a bit against empys, many emp WS got a significant boost makeing their aftermath relevant again, while relic WSs got a stat boost they dont get any TP bonus.

Mythic DRG, it didnt get weaker, but the WS options arent that hot and Drakesbane got barely touched at all, they didnt even lift its attack penalty

I would think most empys with the now powerfull WS have surpassed their Relic counterpart. Sam empy is definitly viable now with Fudo spam and aftermath, same applies to WAR empy with ukko's fury. some proper mythics are still out of reach, but the gaps closed or reversed.

Sorry, now that that's out of the way....


130-150k on Phoenix server. Assuming that I only buy at the lowest rate, and I would have only sold them at the lowest rate if I sold them, that's 195 mil JUST for the 90 >>> 95 upgrade. I doubt if I paid more than 20 mil for my apademak pops, and I didn't buy a single 'pop' for the other 2 stages, I just worked hard for them, and had some help from friends.

So the first 3 stages of Daurdabla fost me 20 mil, and now I'm expected to pay 200 mil or spend the next year of my free time doing VW, JUST to reach 90>95 for an 8% boost to duration?!!?

And then naturally, there's the fact that all of the popular Empys for some reason got grouped together into what's known as the "Riftcinder" group. So rinftcinders cost 1.7 - 2.3 mil on Phoenix, compared to 200-300k for rifddross.

So, 120 mil for 95 >>> 99 to reach where the real action is for Daurdabla.


Of course, until 2 months ago, this was all well and good, because a 3 song bard was still a 3 song bard, and every PUG and their dogs would bite your hand off at the mention of a daurdabla...

... And then the new AF weapons/shield/harp were released.

I don't mind paying as well, but my goodness! I went on a Qilin/Uptala x6 run and maybe like 1 or 2 people got Heavy Metal Pouches. As for Riftcinders and Riftdross, we did Morta x12 and 2 riftcinders dropped and no riftdross. My biggest beef is 1500 HMPs with this kind of drop rate is unacceptable. I wish they can just add these important items to Abyssea. Maybe add it to existing HNMs or create new ones in the zones. But something has to give.

Currently farming uptala/qilin/ Rex every day i can. slowly getting a few HMP, Down side to Uptala i went to 4-6 runs of 6x each and i got ZERO pouches with trading cells and mostly capped lights. i looked today to see i am running out of voidstones and i did see other page quest to SE for new form to get void dust or stones faster, yes please. Take out the fact of needing stones. Se wanted us to farm for AF and Relic upgrade items so player are doing that and seem everyone is running out of stones to farm and get items for gear. See the catch 22? As of today on ffxiah HMP are listed for 140k-180k. Havent done the math but whats cheaper buy 1500 or buy voiddust and get NO drops? long road of 1500.... why am i doing this for harp? /slap

how much to players have to beg for less 1500.. please lower this amount ( 750? ) this is just wayyyyy tooooo much.

You made a list of "biggest winner" after update and it's all mythic but not empy :p You can spam powerful empy WS such as fudo, but it doesn't matter if you can spam it faster with koga.

Most of the empy weapon suck, sadly.

mythic were allready ahead before, but empy GKT for example is considederable stronger then Amano now, because they can ride the aftermath without sacrificing dmg (since fudo is now considerebly stronger then shoha)

the same applys to empy Dagger vs relic Dagger.

Mythic staying on top is fine, since they are alot more time consumeing then empys or relics. but the status between empys and relics is now fairly balanced after the update in most cases.

My point is that current price for empy completely doesn't worth the effort, and it really deserve a buff.

Assuming HMP is 120k and cinder 1M, that's 180M for 95 and 240M total for a 99 cinder empy.

Alex price on my server just dropped to 8.5k. That's 255M for a mythic.

My point is that why spend 240M on an inferior weapon when you can add 15M for a much better weapon. By comparison empy is expensive because Mythic isn't much more expensive than an empy.

If empy is much stronger than it is now or soloable it won't feel that expensive.

You're counting cost only, the difference between obtaining a Mythic by compare to an Empyrean is far more than 15M.

Not to mention that there are more costs to take into consideration than simply getting it to 99...

Though on the flip-side to enhance Efania's point, Cinders are double that on Phoenix.

Though dross is dirt cheap, so the dross empys are probably much more worthwhile making.

There's a lot of points to consider. What I want the development team to see is how the demand for require items have skyrocket due to lack of supply availability and extremely poor drop rates. Mythics and Relics are not going through these kind of hurdles. Yes, it does require time but its results are measurable per its progress like Relics with its weapon stages, and Mythics were adventurers will be involved with more of the game's content to complete their weapon (ie: Nyzul Isle, Salvage, Einherjar, Assault, NM hunting, and quest). Not to mention a handful of the mythics and relics outperform empyrean. I know Mythics are a time consuming process, which I hope one day SE can adjust the requirement as part of their "Quality of Life Adjustment", but at least these weapons have shown to be worthwhile having.

But to go to the source of the problem, the VW drop rate is unsatisfactory, unacceptable, and these items should be expanded to other areas/NMs like in Abyssea . A tremendous amount of time and manpower have been invested in farming riftcinders, riftdross, and HMPs with very little to nothing on returns. I've asked several people who finally got their 119 empyreans (which some spent over a year and a few months just to buy and farm these items because it was so scarce) and they have admitted they could of invested the time in a mythic and been much more satisfied.

the status quo on pricing was totally different 2-3 years ago, where mythics were astronomicly more expensiv to do and empys were cheap/on par with relics cost wise, when voidwatch was in full force. Changes will happen, dont demand how strong a weapon shoudl be by its "gil" cost but by teh amount of effort it needs, by your logic ergon locus weapon geo and run should totally destroy every other existing weapons across all jobs.

Mythics and ergon locus (RUN/GEO) need to most effort,
while relic and empy are on the same lvl in terms of effort, i would even say a relic needs a bit more effort due to the lvl 75-99 trials then a empy, but just a tiny bit.

for all we know it needs one update and empy weapons could end up the cheapest to do. Just like the salvage solo entry change made mythic considerable cheaper.

Funny thing is when SE's made salvage/assault solo-able I predicted mythic will be bandwagon as hell with 6k alex, now it's slowly happening with everyone and their mother owning 5 mythics and shit out 1 mythic a few months(instead of a few years), lol.

I hope we get a response to this thread soon.

hmmm atm the most annoying thing to me for emps is other weapons are outdoing the ws made for them, and well that relic weapon skills are still unique to relics(i know 90% of the them are poor, but fair is fair). Mythic weapon skills are still most powerful with a mythic, and if relics weapon skills were learn-able they would still be best with a relic...

The only change I want made to the Empyrean weapon process is the ridiculousness of some of the trials. HMPs, Dross, cinder.. Marrows?

Though, I mostly want the stuff like Colorless Souls, horns, hearts, lanterns, etc changed to a lower amount.. or, they modify proc'ing so it's less counter-intuitive in Abyssea.
