Shout's revamped

I wanted to discuss the issue of distance a actual shout encompasses and the ability to go pass what is estabilished for comunication aspects amongst players . Some of my ideas are as follows
Sever shout
/world
I think the addition of a sever shout system would have some advantages. You could see mission shouts party invites shouts etc while off soloing or doing your own thing or something you are interested in .(instead of standing in port jueno atm watching them ><; or having your seach comment up since alot people dont use the /sea all)
To implement the spam this might cause I can see the need of a server shout (city shout or what not XD)filter being added needed to implement this for when you are buzy or dont want be bothered.
Also this elimates the use of a duo character having to stand in a specific area just to watch for something to be shouted hoping they are in the right area
City shout
/city
Another concept I can see being added is a all city shout or a specific city shout . This can be specific for the town you are in reaching all the zones you are currently in. (example in windy would include waters walls port and woods )

Due to the distance a shout actualy empcompanses you still might miss a shout standing on the other part of a map to resolve this issue I came up with this idea . A zone shout that could hit everyone in the entire zone regardless of range.
Each add on for shout could also recive a filter for peopel who wanted to turn it off in conjunction with addition the new content
The cons I see coming up is spammers who argue or use this tool to abusive or incorect way. Mostly with the /world shout because it woudl entail everyone basicaly
This could be a useful tool letting people get the freedom of going off adventuring still linked to other peoples intrests in the world who might not be on there friend list linkshell or checking there search all comments.

No server/zone shouts for the love of god.

Port Jeuno is bad enough as it is.

Elimating the need to have to stand in port jueno to see something or being able to be out and about is what I wanted to discuss. Plus the actualy /shout function doesnt incoperate the entire zone if you use it in towns even. I just wanted to give a variation of this with a added feature that lets you filter it on and off is all thus giving the player the freedom to see what events are going on If they where say muleing, crafting, involved soloing on a quest, camping a nm or what not. Not just limiting them to a specfic area hoping to catch a shout they needed or similar event. Just opening up more commnication ways to help players realy was my ideas.

I like this idea^^ It works great in WoW and Aion. But what they have in Aion is that you can only shout once per minute or two. That way you wont be abusing it. I mean, how many times have you been in Aht Urghan Whitegate or Jeuno shouting endless hours just for one mission>_> This would erase that. You can actually EXP while you look for members for a Mission. Thats how it should be IMO ^_-

And dont start with the "Well, we have the Search-system", cos that has been broken since it came out...

If you are scare of the shouts clogging your screen, then there should be an "Filter-global-shouts" option:)

OMFG! server shouts would be amazing! wow i would love the game sooooooooooo much more if i knew i could solo and not miss out on shouts. Heck, i used to have a friend's account, and i would sign him in on my laptop while i played on my xbox. Kept him in whitegate JUST to see the shouts while i was productive.

Also, i find it really important to note that filters should be adjusted so that the person can choose what kind of shouts to hear and not here.

As long as it has its own filter i suppose it could be interesting and/or horrifying.

Why don't you just basically announce that you wish to spam the entire server with /shouts to the point that we all basically have to remove all large-scale communications from our chat logs through the filters?

I'm all for it, imagine the shout drama that we could all be privy to at all times while playing!!!!!

I vote yes on this or something similar, I have logged my husband's char in and sat him in port jueno while he was work just for the waiting for shouts purpose while i went and farmed mats for alchemy. Maybe Port Jueno would not be so clogged up if there were people out doing things instead of sitting in town waiting for a shout for this or that. Here is an idea, how about an option of how far you want to see shouts from? The list could go something like this: Shout distance > normal (default) - zone - region - server. You could also do a /sea all shout function like the /sea all "Zone" function only for the shouts that are happening in that zone. Sooo you're in the boyoda tree and you put in /sea all shout "Port Jueno" and see what is going on there without actually being there. Just a thought.

People would end up annoyed, filter it - then forget it was ever there.

Instead of adding something so silly, why not learn to use the comment/search system?

the fact that sooo many people just sit and wait in jeuno for people to shout for something they wanna do is just depressing. i personally do not want to solo, or get other things i need because i do not wanna miss out on getting the last zone boss or cat that i need.

having some way of eliminating sitting in jeuno watching shouts are needed. this seems like a good way to solve it, but honestly i'm open to any suggestion

Ok I wanted to revisit this idea... After spending much time waititng on shouts in port jueno i think we need something like this. I dont want have ask ls mates to see if they see shouts... Plus I am sick of sitting around browsing the ah for npcables or doing synergy just waiting on a specfic shout or something. No way am I happy with this. I like a way to be linked to others and be off enjoying my game doing something not sitting in town.
I can see areas excluded in range of effect like inside abby or dynamis etc because in there you are buzy. But why not implement this? People can be off working trials soloing doing quets etc etc and ejoying a game not waititng on a shout. I can see a filter again being a good addition. And maybe a cooldown timer so people dont spam this as a idea. For people closed minded to this doesnt realize the actual implications this would open up to the world/server and game alowing you to muti task while still saying connceted to whats happening.

I think is a good idea to have it, sometimes i wanna do something else while waiting for the desired shout, but i can't because if i go from Jeuno i would miss it, this way one can go do other things and keep informed about what players are asking to do.

I know on phoneix atm its chaos logging into or out of port jueno. Causing me and many my friends to lose connection and redo it in access of 1-22 times trying to get on. If this was implemented the gathering in one specific zones to watch shouts wqould no longer also cause the congestion you seem to be having in port jueno. As people could be anywhere in the game (could make some places not recivie them) and would help on this then having tons of ppl standing in one zone.

Sever /sh would be good but only if you could turn it off when you do not want to see it. Also with all the AH being linked and a world /sh there would be no reason to live in Jeuno all the time.

What is it with the haters in this thread? If you don't want it, simply filter it.

I can see huge benefits in implementing at least a region shout. A world shout would be useful too, but I think having a shout channel for all cities would be a better thing to implement. Both should probably be limited in how often you could use it. For region shouts, perhaps one message per minute. For city shouts, maybe one per 5 minutes.

I guess it would be enough if city channels were limited to just one area in each city too. Like for example all the port zones.
