Some new frame ideas for automatons

When I get my scanner hooked back up, I'll start posting some images on here of my ideas. For now, I'll just say what I came up with.

Flyingblade W-600:
Head: Melee +1, Ranged +1
Elements:
Fire3 Wind2 Thunder3 Light2
Ice0 Earth2 Water0 Dark0
Deployment:
-Runs in for melee when deployed.
-Automaton gains a +5% haste for melee attacks only.
-For sharpshot and flyingblade frames, it uses its ranged attack upon deployment.
-For sharpshot frame, ranged attack delay is ~36 seconds, with +5 ranged accuracy.
-For harlequin and stormwaker frames, spells are the same as harlequin and sharpshot heads.

Frame: Melee B, Ranged C, Magic 0
Attributes:
(At level 10)HP144 MP- STR15 DEX16 VIT16 AGI15 INT12 MND13 CHR13
Fire3 Wind4 Thunder4 Light3
Ice3 Earth3 Water2 Dark2
Special: Is under the effects of "Dual Wield", which increases to "Dual Wield II" at level 80 and "Dual Wield III" at 90. Also performs a ranged attack every 40 seconds.
Response to specific heads:
Harlequin: Same as would affect a Valoredge model.
Sharpshot: Ranged attack delay drops to 36 seconds.
Valoredge: Nothing special.
Stormwaker, Soulsoother, and Spiritreaver: Normal effectiveness.
Flyingblade: Normal effectiveness.

I have another one I'm working on. A new "green mage" model focusing on buffs and debuffs.
Also working on the quest for getting this, though I know I'm making the required level 75 for the quest.

Edits: Bump frame's Ranged skill to B, and include the +5 ranged accuracy to using the Flyingblade head with the Flyingblade frame. Any other adjustments are welcome to be critiqued.

Pretty much. The ranged attack was just to take it from the 3 prime skills, and hybrid ranged and melee better than sharpshot does, but not be as good in ranged as sharpshot due to its unique melee abilities.

Honestly, I'd rather use Valorshot (Valoredge head + Sharpshot body) over that.... more earth capacity; more Ranged skill for landing ranged WSs, and has a native 36 sec ranged delay

I'd rather they fix/update the current heads/frames first. If that were to occur, there wouldn't be any need for another new one.

Probably bumping the ranged skill to B would work. Also, include the +5 ranged accuracy for flyingblade frame with flyingblade head. The entire idea is for it to hit more often (between dual wield, haste, and ranged attacks) but not as hard.

what I would like would be an Automaton with a native/advancing Store TP trait... a SAM robot... give him some decent WSs (Not as strong as Armor Piercer, but for the love of god not as crappy as Bone "Crusher" ><) make the head give Store TP tier I, and additional tiers get added by the frame as it levels up, leading eventually to like a 7hit build for your pet w/o gear (give it a 2handed delay like 444~480)

If I designed it, I'd only put "store tp" in the head, and increase it in intervals like you said. But, a sam automaton is like valoredge with Inhibitor, but if you can think of some other things that would make it more unique, I'd love to hear them.

well, the Inhibitor is a hit-or-miss attachment... sometimes the robot likes to SC with crappy WSs.

this being said, doing it the way I ordered it allows the Frame itself to be a uniquely SAM frame, while slapping the head on Valoredge or Sharpshot lets them "Sub" SAM themselves (due to it's single STP tier) without removing the uniqueness of the SAM frame's growing STP tiers.

The Samurai Automaton would be a more Damage oriented Melee Frame (because VE was "built" as a tank... which it can't even do very well xD).

The final product would be a melee alternative to the Sharpshot automaton, basically built as High Damage low Defenses

The ideas sound nice. All that'd hafta be changed is "how it looks". Because, automatons were designed to fill roles, not really imitate jobs. A slow, heavy hitter that gets tp quickly makes it sound like a sam, but changing it to be "a melee alternative to the sharpshot" with the high damage low defenses takes it from being a mini sam and makes it abit more unique.

The store tp factor is nice, but how about this?
Deployment:
-Gains a slight regain effect when deployed.(1 tp/tick every 3 seconds, which increases to 2 tp/tick at 80, and 3 tp/tick at 90).

Let's see what all deployment effects for the head you can come up with, and don't forget to include how it affects the various frames.

Lv50: Spinning Blade: 3 hit physical attack, moderate damage. Skillchain Property: Scission (Closes Distortion off Howling Fist)

Long ago I thought about the fact that I would love to see quests that allow us to boost the elemental limits of each frame and head by 1 for each element. Maybe limiting the quest to 1 per Vana'diel week would be alright.

Also, in regards to frames, they need to make a way to gain a Repeating Crossbow outside of crafting. Make it in a BCNM or ISNM or something so it doesn't necessarily step on the toes of people who still want to craft it, but I've seen a few new PUPs trying to get that item for the Sharpshot frame but can't find a crafter for it.

Oh how right you are! I would already have Sharpshot on Korponi if it weren't for the need for the repeating crossbow. I'm actually really contemplating levelling the 88 ww, 59 sm, and 46 bc needed for the crap. I have the ingredients for it, but a crafter is nearly impossible to find.

I haven't given it any thought as to weaponskills for Flyingblade model.
Here's some attempts at weaponskills:
Knife Juggle
Maneuver: Wind
Hits: 3
Damage type: Slashing
Effect: Low damage ratio per hit, kind of useless unless all three strikes hit, or any strike is critical.

Detangling Spin
Maneuver: Thunder
Hits: 2
Damage Type: Slashing
Effect: High chance of critical with each hit. Low damage ratio otherwise, as Knife Juggle.

Poisoned Darts
Maneuver: Water
Hits: 3
Damage Type: Piercing
Effect: Poison effect doing 1, 2, or 3 damage/tick, depending on how many hits succeed in one use of the weaponskill. If reused while the poison is in effect, the new poison effect cannot overwrite the old one.

let the automaton have its own automaton! MWAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA

what about a version two of the frames/heads and additional heads for the valoredge and sharpshot going up in level increments of 10 like stormwaker heads did

I always thought that it'd be nice if they came up with a new head for all four bodies, at level 60, 70, 80, and 90, but had them interchangable which order to get them, as long as the ones up to 50 were done.

The only reasonably body i can think of is a Valoredge frame II with two-handed like weapon Great axe.
Middle low delay, high damage, powerfull Weaponskill, good thunder and fire capacity.

Also some MNK style frame for Harlequin head would be sweets.

dont need any more frames IMO but better attachments and maybe a few more slots for attachments. OH, and make the current broken attachments work.

There's always a need for more content. New frames, new attachments, new new new. It's what keeps the game new and interesting. In these cases, it's things for PUP to keep PUP new and interesting. Saying there's no need for something, is more true to say that YOU are fine with no more of that content, but it doesn't make you less interested if they make new content in that category if you like PUP atall.

Would love to see a blue mage puppet, that gets access to blue mage spells as the frame levels and have the melee capabilities.

Personally, theres a lot of neat ideas out there, but most are too complex and aren't really worth the time.

We have a ranger, blm, whm, war (pld?).

Which means all we really need is a pet with dual wield, (thf or mnk) or a pet with a 2 hander (war or sam). Something with A+ melee skill, and attack speed that scales with level (480 at 20, down to 300 at 90).

What we dont need is another ranger, or a bard, or a blue mage. With manuevers triggering spells it means we are pretty much craped out on the number of available spells any mage could cast.

Personally, Ive never used the valours edge frame, I sometimes use the ranger frame but mainly use the blm, rdm or whm frames. I guess if you are a damage dealer on other jobs you want your puppet to be the same, my main job is rdm so I guess thats why I like the mage frames.

Naw i dont mind the idea of a blue mage, but I would rather see a full revamp of spell casting on our pets before they add another mage.

Even something as simple as:
Light maneuver: Cure > status ailments > Buffs
Ice maneuver: nuke> enfeebles
Dark: Drain > Aspir only


Then you could actually have a blue pet that wouldnt sit there and spam magic fruit and canon ball.

But until they revam spell casting on pets, I would much rather have a functional DD pet that uses melee instead of magic

I agree with Dfoley, if we are to get a new automaton frame, it would need to either be a 2-hander type like a WAR frame with a GAxe and a SAM frame with a GK (which you can interchange btw....Automaton with a Soboro Sukehiro anyone?)

OR a automaton that can dual wield, like a THF type automaton which can perform Sneak Attacks (if deployed from behind) has it's own native Treasure Hunter trait, or a MNK type automaton with a native "Martial Arts" effect that increases with skill and level.

We currently have all the mage jobs covered, as well as RNG and PLD/WAR (or WAR/PLD??), our new frame should most definitely be a DD type.

Needs mor bstmasta frame.

Would be neat to have new pet commands. Magic ones for which tier spell to use and Ranger ones to stay go close or stay back. They could also be used to say enfeeble, elemental,divine etc
