I was sitting here NPCing a bunch of items that were clogging up inventory after some spell hunting and I came up with an idea that might help alleviate, not only some of the auction house woes that seem to pop up here and there, but could also help out a lot with people who are crafting. I have no clue if this would even be possible but here it goes:
Each guild NPC has a list of items with specific amounts of those items that are "resupplied" at certain periods of time. Would it be possible to expand those lists to the same degree as the action house and then we could sell all the "crap" crafting items we accumulate as we do other things? Now I am not saying have those items replenished every time the NPC is replenished, but give us the option to sell those crafting specific items to the specific crafting NPC and give other crafters the ability to buy those items from said NPC until the supply is sold out. The buy/sell prices would be set by SE just like all NPC seller items but be resupplied by the players instead of the actual game. The items would also be reset to 0 when the NPC is resupplied.
This could be a great way to alleviate some of the stress on the Auction house and give the players somewhere to NPC their items without just trashing them if they so desire.

You can either scroll through that list, or pick "Choose From Inventory" (sp), which shows your own inventory with unsellable items greyed out.Quote:

Or give bonus guild points for selling items on their list, in addition to the gil they pay, and normal guild point accumulation.

I knew you could only sell stuff to the guild NPCs that correlate to their individual guild craft but you can't buy items not specifically listed back from the NPCs can you? And as far as lugging stuff from guild to guild, oh well. You don't have to sell it to the guild NPC if you don't want to make the effort. It's up to you. I am not saying get rid of the actual restocking, I am saying add our stock to theirs. I know I just NPC a lot of crafting items because I have stuff that makes more gil on the AH than say, the ram skins and ladybug wings that I accumulate. People can use these, but many people just NPC them because it isn't worth the item slots on the AH to put them up. I am just saying give people another option to buy/sell the crafting items that are only farmable other than the AH to alleviate some of the AH item limitation stress.

Uh..... That is how it currently works, I sell 10 logs to wood guild, those 10 logs are available to buy.... The problem with that is the guilds don't add much incentive to resupply them..... They pay the same minuscule amount of gil as a normal vendor (maybe a bit more but not enough to make worthwhile). Extra guild points for selling guild specific items to that guild, and a 20% kick on npc price would increase my willingness to clog up my inventory for the haul back to the guild... I think were saying the same thing.... Sorta.

What I am asking about specifically is farmable items only that are not naturally sold by the guild NPC merchant. Example:
Here is a list of items sold by Cletae in the Lethercrafting Guild in Sandy:

Karakul Skin/Leather is not on that list. If I sell her either of those items (even though I can sell them to her because they are leathercrafting items) someone looking for those, can not buy them back right? What I am suggesting is that, since the Guild Merchants already have all their crafting items in their logs of what they can/can't buy, when somebody sells items not initially listed for ANY crafting item, open them up to sale. As far as weather or not people are willing or not is null. There are a lot of things in game that people do or don't want to do but they are still offered for the people who want to do them (chocobo raising, pankration, MMM, the list goes on and on). I am not gonna warp to Windy every time I have cooking items for sale, but if I am in Sandy and I have some Smithing items I need to clear, I would go to the Smithing guild merchant to NPC them instead of a regular one. -

ooooooooo nowwwww i c... yeah that is kind of doofy hu? S.E. fix it!!! when we sell things to guilds WE WANT someone to be able to buy them back! my bad ... I wasn't aware not alllllll the items were on the list. (fame!! reward fame for it!!) (people will send junk to their mules and have their mules trade for fame/ decent gil) and crafters can buy em , and i can buy that stuff :D woot woot. Brainstorming ftw.

People aren't going to want to spend the time and effort required to reach most of the guilds to get things they can already get on the AH. The guilds are inconvenient, that's the primary reason why most people ignore them.
The AH does exactly what the guilds do, just easier and more convenient. -

Nobody does ballista but they still offer it. It is another option for people who want to do it. I just NPCed a ton of Colibri beaks because they were clogging up my inventory. Didn't AH them because I had 7 things on the AH already and other things are worth more. I would have much rather NPCed them to the Bonecrafting guild if someone could have bought them back and used them. Like I said, just another option for the junk we accumulate that people may still use but others aren't going to AH them because they make more off of them by NPCing them.

Might as well give each regular vendor NPC a small history of sold items, so they can sell random stuff for a profit. (Older items get pushed off as items are sold to them, and server reset clear it.)
