Suggestion: Black Mage spell "Warp III"

I would like to make a suggestion for a new Black Mage spell, "Warp III". The spell would function in a similar manner to the previous two; however, the target destination would be your home nation.

As such, the Warp-III spell would function in the same manner as Nomad Moogle Cap.

"Warpga" (or would it be "Warpra"?) would be handy too.

Warpga probably, because black magic spells don't seem to have ra spells in this game (Like Fira or Thundara) they are all ga spells (Light Firaga or Thundaga) but I agree, I think the main reason it does not exist is so you cant warp an entire party away without loot falling, for instance, if you were to kill Absolute Virtue, then some random BLM in your party Warpgas everyone, you could be slightly~ pissed if you had winning lots on things.

I think generally, -ra implies "caster-centered" AoE, and -ga implies "target-centered" AoE.

On topic, sure, I guess see no problems with a spell to warp to home nations.

Should give Repatriation to Scholar.

well there is a vary easy way to stop this from happening if warp ga/ra is ever implemented it would have to move the hole alliance to there hp and auto drop the hole pool so no one gets any items but i would see some problems with this as well

I'd worry about this too. You could say the same about teleports, but it's not as common to teleport everyone after a battle. Certainly it happens often, but not like Warp II. It would be a lot easier to mistakenly hit Warpga in your menu when you were trying to Warp II individual people than it would to mistakenly hit a teleport spell.

A Warp III, or Repatriation (given Retrace has a different name for a similar purpose but different destination) would be nice. As much as I'd like SCH to get it, I'd still give it exclusively to BLM for consistency.

Yep, also the main problem with tele spells is long cast times, normally you can get away if you see it, warp has been a generally fast casting spell, Warpga could be extended but then it might lose its use, seeing as I take it an AoE Warp would be for speed.

2) can only warp people from your pt

warpra = teleport home point, nothing that could be done with it cant be done via teleport spells

I like the idea. At this point its not like another 'ease of transit' is going to break the game or anything. Would be convinent for travel between the main area your hp is set at, and your home nation.

Manifestation would be for enfeebles.

Accession would be for enhancing magic.

You attempted to correct me by saying that I meant Manifestation, which I did not. Manifestation doesn't allow you to turn an Enhancing Magic spell into an AOE.

You then said that it also works for dark magic, but not elemental. "It" meant Accession because that was the JA the conversation began with. You changed the crux of the conversation to Manifestation without specifying it, which is why you think you're proving me wrong when you're arguing about something we're not actually talking about.

Manifestation would be what you would use in the case of AoEing Warp, reason being, look at Klimaform, it can be AoE'd only via Manifestation. Reason why what was said made no sense is because it was said accession+warpra, warpra in theory would be AoE already, and probably party target only as with Warp 2, making Accession with it, pointless in many ways.

@OP, just following the name convention and the path warp took (warp=self, warp II pt member) I would think warp III would BE warpga (all pt members in range). Still a good idea.

Manifestation works for spells against monsters, though, so that's why it wouldn't work anyway. And this is probably not going to change.

I think a repatriation spell would be "nice to have" but in terms of adding spells or fixing spells, Repatriation/Warp3 would be near the bottom of my list.

Click this and you should see on that page where it says "Stacks with Manifestation to buff the entire party." this is because if you use Manifestation with Klimaform(Self target buff, increases the magic accuracy for spells of the same element as the current weather.) everyone nearby in your party will gain the effect, as such, it is not only spells against monsters. I use this alot in VW when I'm in the party with the BLMs as my SCH and they cant land spells like Drown, I am SCH/RDM, easier to give them water weather & Klimaform to stick it ^_^;

Forgot about Klimaform. You're right. In the meantime, Warp III ... not really needed. Agreed?

Warp III, not needed, Warp Manifestation, possible, Retrace but with current day homes, I agree with. Mainly the last one because of the reason I am short on tabs, and anyone who does not have an abundance will probably not care to get any via the only real method, GoV.

Warp III (or D3) already exists. It is an innate ability every character has, it is free, and costs 0 MP, and I use it quite often. It is a death warp.

Let me guess. You feel that the addition of a Warp III or Repatriation spell would take away valuable dev time from some aspect of the game you want them to spend time on? Perhaps you are the concerned parent/spouse of a dev and worry that they are overworked and this would only add to their excessive workload?

yes that would be one way thay can fix the problem

but i think that if this option was enabled it should also be passed along to removal from party removal because i have lotted thing and when the party was done i have A$$'s that wanted what i lotted for just boot me from the pt when i wont the lot on free lot pt's(now if someone had told me that the item was for some one then i would have passed even if i accidentally lotted it and won)[sorry for going on a tangent this thread should be about warpIII]

Manifestation is compatible with spike spells, which are enhancing. The ability description doesn't indicate it should, nor was it possible upon the original release of the ability, but it was changed to work at some point. It's worked for the last year at least. Not trying to be a technical jerk, just pointing it out because many people don't know it's possible still.

It's kind of odd too. It's the only spell I can think of where the animation appears only on the caster when made AOE. I see it on myself only, then the log lists the rest of the party.

To be uber technical, Klimaform was never an exception, since it's dark magic, not enhancing. Well, it's an exception to the ability description, since that still only states enfeebling, but dark magic like Aspir, Drain and Bio have always been compatible iirc.

If a Warpga of sorts were added, and spell slots truly are limited as rep posts have said, I'd prefer it be done by making Warp compatible with manifestation rather than adding a new spell for it.

I'd like this for Warp II even. The only problem I see is that guy who fell asleep and you give him the pity warp. He might die or timeout, but who really cares.

My concern with Warpga wasn't really intentional item stealing, which I myself haven't even experienced. It's thinking about myself being slightly inebriated and going to the menu to choose Warp II since I never bothered to macro it, and choosing Warpga on accident because I would be annal and have to have them next to each other. Of course the easy solution is after I did that once I'd just move the spell in the list.

You'd be surprised how many would come on here and make the statement you did and be completely serious. You have to be extremely absurd or use the sarcasm tag.

If the dev team had too much of a work load, they wouldnt be pissing time away on a damn head gear toggle, new UI with no controller support, Etc.


They should add a confirmation to warp like they have with tractor and raise. Warp III would be nice if that menu allowed you to choose an area to warp to. It would be nice if you could choose an area in past and present and use the maws as warp points. OR! Since SMN is getting atomos as a summon this summer, allow that to be used as a maw that players can use to warp to any maw.
