When testing new WS

DO NOT DO IT IN ABYESSA. My god.

I keep reading on BG on how people are testing the h2h ws. Ok, so they go into Abyessa, put on RR etc etc and testing a CRIT based ws with the new one that doesn't crit. Of course they come to the conclusion it is not as good.

Far as I can tell none of these new ws are crit based, so why do people keep testing them in Abyessa. Abyessa is all about the crit and the crit ws, of course those ones are going to do more.

the game is not all about Abyessa, we are moving away from that, we have new content outside so we need to get use to those crit based ws to do more varied dmg. They will not crit almost everytime.

So test these ws outside, and you may find they are more consistent in damage, they may not do as much if VS crits on all hits, but that is not going to be the norm. This goes for all the crit based ws.

Sorry for rant, but all I could think of was how stupid it was to test in abyessa.

So why don't you go test it outside of aby instead of posting?

Because when people test in Abyessa like I stated, they give feedback to people not on the test server that is incorrect. Those people use those tests to make informed choices. So if people want to test in abyessa, then fine, but keep it to yourself because the information you are posting is more or less useless.

Well, some people care what it does in abyssea. As long as you specify that, there's no harm in doing it.

Yeah, I do understand the point really, but I'm just saying that it is a test-server, wherein any and all tests for the time being my provide more than different results comparing to when it all goes live, no matter how they are tested.

Obviously everyone should not rely on the tests too much, and only make their decisions based on more valid reasons.

Yes, but anyone can come to the conclusion that if you have RR on, a crit ws will obviously do more then a n0n-crit, so the point of comparing the two ws in abyessa becomes pointless.

Testing to see how much it does in abyessa is one thing, but comparing it to VS or Pummel for the purpose of deciding if the new ws is good or not is just dumb.

This is one of those things that garner a response akin to "Your mileage may vary" since it is really dependent on what the individual plans to use this WS for. If abyssea is their cup of tea, then abyssea is where they want data from. If it is from VWNM, then the information will come from there. If it is just for S&G's then someone will give feedback from there too.

It is more dependent on how the person seeing the information interprets it rather than the person posting the feedback. Any person critiquing the feedback can and usually will ask "what was your control for this? what did you fight? what conditions were you fighting under" etc.

ws are all good and all but has anyone tested skill chains???
trying to get a friend of mine to apply and test them with me i know the new sam ws> kasha does light so far further testing will be posted soon i hope

Except Entropy.

Let's just be clear that every other weapon got something better than its level 60 WS. Scythe got a Guillotine clone Spirit Taker which will be nerfed before release so DRK doesn't have infinite MP anyway.

Gimme a break, your whining is about as bad as my defensiveness in regards to PUP. Entropy is not that bad, and giving them a Spirit Taker for scythe was a good idea.

Scythe WS haven't progressed since level 60, and a DRK that manages to blow 200-300mp between each WS is doing it so wrong.

You will never see a scythe on a credible and skilled DRK ever again if Entropy remains this lackluster, especially since the mp recovery will be nerfed to prevent silliness like DRKs spamming Impact.

So don't use it every time. It's still a useful tool. frankly, it does good damgae considering its effects.

I can understand saying it doesn't really advance DRK much, but it's still not a terrible WS.

Absorb-Attri, Drain II, and Dread Spikes are sitting on 1-3 minute cooldowns and I still have 75% of my MP pool. What the hell is there to cast more of.

Elemental Nukes, obviously, given Occult Accumen. At this point, I would recommend you just resign yourself to the fact that SE loves trolling drks as much as they love trolling thfs.

Umm Sword WS says hi. Vorpal seems to be stronger as a BLU.

I just finished messing with the dagger WS on DNC and Scission is the only property I'm positive on. I'm also certain it doesn't have Fusion, Distortion or Gravitation properties since I didn't get Light with Shark Bite or Darkness with Evisceration or Pyrrhic Kleos. While typing this up I decided to test the H2H WS on PUP and managed to get Light from Dragon Kick so I assume they can all make a level 3. Just nothing solo on DNC with the new skill. The skills also seem to get a fair spike when you pile on the stat they go off with full merits.

I tested our club ws both inside and out of abyss. At one upgrade. Then went to do it with it fully upgraded only to find even with the critical hit damage bonus realmrazor slapped hexa strike to the ground and kicked it in the crotch. I was doing ~3.5k damage with it. So yes I very much do believe their is a point in at least checking.

Anyways speaking of H2H. I've hit a bit of an oddity. Taking into account advice given I re-did my ws gear for Dex and found that while outside the damage considerable went up. Inside it still sat at 2k. Didn't move at all. Anyone else experience something similar?

Just did some more testing to see since it was like that the first day I tested it. I was missing hits here and there and getting 1.7-2k damage but it went as high as 2.6k once. I had 99+164 DEX at the time. I didn't really get much done though as I'm short on time right now and Ansherekh decided to make it even shorter. -_-;
