Empyrean Feet Armor Alt. Obtainment methods PLEASE PASS ON TO DEVS

like many ppl ive been trying to get the hardest of the empyrean armor to obtain
the feet currently i need thf nin and bst feet each drops from the chests in 1 of the 3 Scars of abyssea areas i would like to see feet offered as quest rewards or droped from abyssea nms or even offered by the new daily reward system (in developement)
im sure the briliant devs can figure out a fair way to award these in the game to where they are greatly more abundant than currently (speaking about all 20 feet armors not just the 3 i need obviously) dynamis xarc relic started out hard to get like these feet are now but then dreamlands were added to make them more abundant so somthing simular (as long as its not box farming in another area) will work lovely

Find a group thats cleaving for an empyrean weapon, ask to lot pair if they drop.

By that same logic, the VW system is fine as is...base feet arent hard to get, but theyre not easy. Its entirely luck based, especially in an area like vunkerl where you have a pool of 9, compared to 6 attohwa, and 5 misareaux. On top of the thought that the game seems to know what you want, and refuses to cooperate.

Looks like a whiny rant from someone who doesn't know how to farm for feet, and to that I say "the system is just fine as is".

I think it's something you have to deal with. Do you remember how much of a time sink and wait it was to get AF1? Competing with other people for relic armor, if they even dropped, before the new additions?

From what I've noticed, if you're not impatient and build the proper lights, chances of you getting the AF1 feet you want in that same sitting is rather decent and acceptable.

Although feet aren't as easy as the other pieces to obtain (buying off some guy just inside zones) they're pretty damn easy to get. In fact, i found getting the legs more frustrating at times. Building up points for those could be a pain when bastion raids would only last 10 seconds -.-

Farming up gold pyxides is a bloody joke and nothing to cry about, and i'd rather have the dev's working on something important instead of making something totally easy to accomplish even easier. Cowboy up bud.

It's easy to get feet, it's just not easy to get the feet you actually need. Last night some LS mates kept getting PUP over and over again. Seems like they were doing all the right things, but the randomness was absolutely not in their favor. No amount of time and effort can beat the Random Number Generator. When it decides to go against you it's worse than old school AV and PW combined.

Oh well, FFXI has always been the game where even if you win you lose.

Come on now getting bastion credits is not harder then getting af3 feet. I did find most of the feet for my jobs by just doing random things in Abyssea. The only one I actually went to farm was SMN. I wouldn't have had to even do that if I didn't pass up the opportunity to get them like 3 times beforehand.

I don't know which is more time consuming and it basically depends on the luck factor in the end but Bastion is definitely more frustrating by a good lead mainly due to most people not caring about it. It was never really time limit friendly with all the other things you could be dumping your limited stone count into. Maybe if you got 5 or 10 min extensions after every battle or at least successful battle it might have been more popular. Exp is definitely pretty good for at least the melee but I think it's another one of those things where mages are screwed. BLM might get decent numbers out of it, though.

Bottom line you can easily spend 30+ minutes before you see a victory in Bastion. Most of the time mobs rush in, a NPC somewhere does stupid and draws hate near the marts, they get AoE'd and taken down and mobs rush off like they're somebody. And when you do get a victory you had better been on the ball or you'll walk away with jack for rewards. Typically victories are only obtained from weak 1 wave attacks unless you miraculously find yourself surrounded by at least 10 others but even when it's "crowded" all it takes is BLM NPCs to screw everything up.

If you're the casual player who couldn't care less and just wants their 1500 points to buy their legs I could see you not having an issue with bastion. But for the player like me who likes to keep points replenished to buy temps to have them instead of not having them when I need them, it's incredibly enraging to deal with Bastion.

Especially going into bastion with no buffs to the npcs, barrier (if it's even there), and the marty. Some jobs are ill equipped to control the mobs on their own (which most tend to solo bastion and fail.) While some other jobs don't do a very good job of dealing with the enemy before they say f' it and attack the marty, completely ignoring you and the npcs all together.

Bastion has been easily the most frustrating way to obtain an AF3 NQ piece for me.

if your job cant solo bastion you can:
- come with an other job
-team up with friends
- suck less

when you farm gold coffer there is nothing you can do to "force" the one you need to drop. You can be the bestplayer on the best job with the best gear, team up with the best player, Mr Randomgenerator can still drop random feet that wont be the one you farm

Feet aren't hard to get you can solo them really easy.

Empyrean feet aquisition is a lot easier though, even if the drop rate isn't super high. Mainly because you can add them to the common treasure pool, letting people who actually need them come and get them. All it requires is to be able to zone into the appropriate abyssea zone within 5 minutes, which is easily done with a warp scroll and Aby teleporters.

I don't know about you guys, but every single time I find a pair of empy feet I don't need, I do a "/l Anyone need X feet? Come to Zone asap!" And my shellmates do the same when they find something. I also often shout about it in the zone I am in.

This is how I have gotten all the feet items I have, actually :p, and a few for jobs I haven't even gotten past lv50 yet, but plan on doing sometime in the future.

1 DD and 1 White mage can AOE a shit ton of mobs, and get every foot in a zone in like 1 hour.

When I take my White Mage to do bastion, that fool can be there his whole life and not get points.

Feet are not hard to get sorry.

To the OP: Stop Whining.

I understand your frustration my friend, but I've had all 20 feet for awhile now. I suggest that you join an xp pt in the area that you need the feet from, and after the party you go and solo a few hours with your capped lights and extra te. You can farm better this way. Another suggestion is, start your own xp pt and in the shout specifically state that the first pair of X feet are yours, this way anyone joining the party knows in advance that you are locking the first pair of X feet. I've seen several shouts that have this. Another option maybe to shout for a feet farming group, hosting one yourself is the best option. In a feet farming group make sure you have at least one good dd and one good azure light maker and a healer. Consult wiki on which ws and mobs yield amber lights, for feet farming you want enough amber to drop small gold chests, but not enough to drop large gold chests.

On the flip side of this, if any changes to empyrean feet are made, I would prefer that the feet are able to drop from large gold chests with capped lights, as i seem to notice that once amber is closer to cap smaller chests drop less frequently and more larger gold chests seem to drop. This is why capped lights are good for ki farming, but not for feet farming. Perhaps the feet could drop from the larger chests as well, therefor allowing people who do farm after an xp pt and with all capped lights a fairer chance at empyrean feet. Currently, the feet drop from small chests only. Perhaps though, this was intended in making the base feet somewhat challenging in acquiring, and therefore more rewarding once completed.

You don't need a victory to get Bastion credits. All you have to do is go on BLM target one of the flying saucers coming in and kill it.(You can get two if it last long enough) You could also just GA everything that comes in but make sure you put stoneskin/blink/reraise up first. Doing this it won't take you long to get the credits you need.

odds they get at least one of each are fucking low



and for resistance credit if you cant do bastion you can still do resistance op, that fucking low but imo better than checking you 654th coffer and see that still not the feet you need.

ITT: Empyrean feet are hard

The only zone I even had "trouble" with farming feet was in Vunkerl due to 9 feet being there, and that was Savant's Loafers; spent 160+ hours farming them. The only thing that was "hard" was the time it took. Misareaux should be the easiest, and you can easily ask fell cleave groups in Attohwa on mobs like chigoes for example if you can get any feet they end up with.

tl;dr: Just keep trying, manage amber lights properly. Don't overdo it too much. You can get feet with capped amber, but I've found its easier to get it when chests are still small. Keep an eye on Bastion cores 06/07 as well.

The same can be said of almost every drop in the game. But this drop in particular comes from mobs that can be killed en mass, so I don't really see the point in making it any easier. Stop passing stuff you don't need at the moment. you can store it with that stupid moogle for later when you want it.

Less then and there's more tendancy toward synthisis materials, more then and there's a tendancy toward more temporary items.

It seems to me like killing 20X as many mobs with AOE would still yield faster results than trying to keep amber at exactly 80. I've gone to those sorts of parties when I need to skill up or mess around, and the feet drops are really slow. AOE seems like the way to go IMO. But w/e, I guess I don't care if they add the drop to another activity, as long as it doesn't take the dev team more than like 5 minutes.

i know, never said that feet were hard to get, was replying to people that said getting resistance credit was "harder"

Just enough amber to get the best small gold boxes seems to be best, but you'll find them even with maxed amber. We trash tons of feet every time we do a zone like Attohwa Chasm for empy weapons just by cleaving for time.
