Just a few, mostly unrelated things, that might be nice if they were changed.
Please make logs, skins, ingots, etc stackable. This is for a few reasons, first of which is it seems silly to need six inventory to do basic material synths. Remember being a newbie and having one fifth of your inventory occupied because you wanted to make a copper ingot? Second of all it would encourage players to actually hold on to those items and list them on the auction house, rather than tossing them as inventory cloggers.
Please make basic material synths able to be hq'd across all crafts. Why can my woodworker make triple the amount of lumber from a log when a leathercrafter can't acquire multiple leathers from a hide. Basically it already makes little sense when certain crafts can wind up with more products than they had materials for, so why is this withheld from some crafts?
Please let us look at our various inventories while crafting. I understand not being able to move things while crafting, but sometimes I would just like to be able to check on how many mats I have. If anything it would at least let me break up the monotony of crafting in bulk by letting me pretend I can multitask.
Choco digging is just sad right now. There have been no changes to the pools or areas we can choco dig in since ToA. The treasure pools are tiny and take forever to refill. It is worse than the original fishing system on those factors.
Please let us create synthed element clusters. By that I mean, for example, combining multiple single fire crystals to form one fire cluster. Purely because clusters can now stack, yet the bulk of our crystals come from the form of single crystal drops.
Remove the odd zone restrictions from portafurnaces. The field only caveat makes no sense and limits the already small usability of the item.
And this is a long shot, but I would like if the actual process of crafting could be sped up a little. I enjoy being able to craft, I like making items, but watching the same several second cutscene, waiting for the mini lock to wear off when the synth is finished, refinding the exact materials I just used, and waiting on the timer before I can synth again - none of this is interesting gameplay. It is rather tedious and requires constant attention.
I'm sure others will chime in if they agree or disagree with me, but it would be nice if some of these things could be considered

I've already mentioned elsewhere that I approve of the idea of being able to re-create clusters (though making it a synth to do so requires reworking the synthesis system to allow for recipes with more than 8 ingredients as the synth code manually unstacks things at some point).
Stacking ores (99?) and logs (12) is also a good idea. (For that matter, stacking juices would be nice, especially in combination with allowing HQed juice recipes to produce more than one juice. Yes, I know you can do that with synergy. The only excuse for not doing it on normal cooking is that normal synths don't produce more than one unstackable item, which making juice stackable solves.)
Portafurnaces: I suspect the issue is that the code is derived from that of the Chocobo Whistle. (I don't know if this would make it harder to fix, or if it's a matter of just disabling the zone check.) -

My heart was really into starting fishing finally after all these years and to level it beyond 14 to 100 after realizing I need to level it to craft fisherman's cuffs. It's the opportunity and excuse I've been looking for to do fishing. I even crafted myself up HQ gear(just because) and bought that Lu shang rod I've had my eye on since forever. But I just cannot stomach such a poor system. I was so bored I was falling asleep. I can make 500-1 mil or more per hour with relative ease. I don't need to fish for gil. And I would love to enjoy the experience, if only the skill ups were a bit more realistic and not totally FUBAR for the sake of a skill up ring to be worth getting.
I can only imagine how FUBAR crafting in general would be if they had given the fishing fix treatment to the other crafts to put a stop to RMT. I would not enjoy any other craft either if I never got skill ups. You enjoy things when you see progress being made. When there's no progress and your time is being totally wasted, you cannot enjoy it, and you start to fall asleep or your attention goes elsewhere and eventually you just say eff it. And so I did. Until the day fishing is reverted back to it's former glory and becomes enjoyable again.

P.S. MAYBE I'll try it again when I can get a ring. I could frickin live with 4 skills a day. Just not bloody .7 after 7 hours. Still, this craft needs fixing. -

While we're at it, one thing I would like to see added to non-consumable crafting is a way to add the nq product to the recipe for a higher chance at hqing at the cost of losing the nq and getting nothing if you don't, or something else like that.

Yes, stacking basic materials like ore, logs and skin would help, and yes it's not fair that you can HQ lumbers and not leathers or ingots, sheets.
It's also strange when you make bolts, it's better to try to HQ them separately than using Boltmaker's Bundling Twine.
It would also be great if we could set the number of synthesis we want. (even x12 would be great)
For example, as a corsair, when i want to make 12 pouches of bullet it takes me awhile, i could have use this time to make things at home, or watch TV, surfing the web, while my character repeats the same synth over and over.
I know there are third party programs that can perform this, but i would prefer a legit way to make crafting less tedious. -

Lumber is used for a lot of consumables (arrows) and uselesses (furniture), whereas leather, ingots and sheets are used for armor, weapons and accessories. Noone (including devs) care about woodworking (high-level bolts and arrows are low skill, compared to high-level weapons and armor, for instance), but blacksmithing, goldsmithing and leatherworking must be pampered with high-demand high-skill low-supply recipes.Quote:

it just doesn't make sense that you would 48 spaces of your inventory just to produce a stack of ingots, which consumes 1 inventory space. -

From what I've gathered, most KIs are junk - in that they allow recipes to yield 2-4x the normal synth, but also require the same boost to required supplies?
What's the point? The time saved does not make up for time farmed/gil spent. -
