Blue Mage "Fast Cast" Trait + Isador

Recent testing by others and then consecutive testing by myself indicates that the Isador's "Fast Cast" enhancement as well as the "Fast Cast" trait that we're able to set via spell combos have both been nerfed from 10% each to 5% each.

Is there a reason for this? Was it intentional? Insight would be appreciated, as in the current state, not only is the trait half the strength of a RDM's tier 1 trait, but it isn't worth a whopping 9 set points. The sword is understandable but still, why nerf ours when Hochomasamune remains at 10%?

If this could be forwarded to the Dev Team and some light could be shed on the situation, it would be appreciated.



Also, unrelated, the change to how blue magic is sorted every time you change subs or enter a level capped area is annoying.

Wait! Calling it now, lv99 almace will have fast cast 10% !! Enjoy :P

Brochain will have 2% Spell Interrupt. Enjoy!

You are incredibly dense if you think it requires "crazy testing." Equip metallic body with no fast cast, cast it. You'll see that it's a 60 sec recast. Now equip fast cast and notice the results.

just tested and i tested before i posted and still 10% on sword

Traits being changed will never happen also because its not something like a quick fixed Equipment slot. and it would break for RDM too.

yes still 20% to casting times and -10% to recasting times with both sword and trait.

5% of 60 is 2, is it? You're wrong.

Metallic Body with trait = 58 seconds.
Metallic Body with sword = 58 seconds.

For further proof, both equipped would be 10%. 10% of 60 is 6, 60-6 = 54.

Metallic Body with trait and sword = 57 seconds.

ALSOOOOOOOO if it was 5% fastcast and 2.5% recast than you would be getting 59 with just 1 and 57 with both because 60*0.025 = 1.5 and remainders are cut off NOT rounded up.

Or you have absolutely no idea what you're doing. 57 would be the appropriate value, but with one trait it's 58. To be precise, it's 57.5

there is no remainder on math in FFXI if you going to troll atleast know that EVERYTHING is cut off(NOT ROUNDED) other than TP.

Which is precisely why it's 58 instead of 57

i was /rdm...../facepalm meaning that RDM FC II is 15%.. still..

Ok now do it /NIN with only the BLU trait, then do it with isador, then isador + trait. I'm not trying to say the RDM trait is broken, the BLU one is.

Already have, I got expected values with RDM @ lv 30.

how does SE mess up a Trait on one job w/o messing it up on another....

maybe like Widescan on RNG RDM start out with Fastcast II and we only get Fastcast I

Can do the test with WHM/RDM and reraise too, synced to the appropriate level. You'll get expected values.

Traits don't stack in blue? I'm not a math person or parsa. So I'm basically adding nothing to arguments ;(

OP should probably post this in the bug forum. Doesn't seem like job forum threads get replied to by anyone that could fix this or tell us why it was changed (if it was intentional).

Wanted to see if this went anywhere before duplicating the thread really, don't wanna be spammy. Will put it over there tho.

I don't think the BLU section has ever had a dev/mod post :(. They do ninja fix/change things tho, maybe they thought people wouldn't notice.

Pretty ridiculous considering the how taxing set point wise that trait is.

Seriously? Read the thread, do the tests yourself, then tell me it's not broken.

Also, your perception on how fast cast works is wrong.

If it's any indication on these forums, we need to get this thread to 20+ pages before we get any response from the team :/

I love how the lolwiki says the first job to get FC 1 now is 72 Blu with Rdm getting FC2 at level 15.

That's the only part of his post that is correct :( Fast Cast 1 is -10% casting time and -5% recast time (everyone but him seems to already know this). Not really sure how he got 5%/2.5% from "Fast cast 1 = 10%" lol.

i just copied what was in wiki :P i dont really use fast cast on blu, i just learned how to time shadows :( i dont have isador either so i wouldnt have noticed any change if there was any. i havent heard anyone with it say they never get hit or anything so idk how SE knew to nerf it.

the 10% fast cast i assumed was like haste. 50% haste doesnt equal 1/2 recasting time it means your current speed x 1.5. and recast time is w/e the % is based on player testing. so i assumed 100% fast cast would be ultimate cap, not necessarily casting at 0%
