Hi SE,
Would it be possible for curor buffs (HP+, MP+, STR+, INT+, etc.) to affect pets as well as their masters? The same thing is done with atma, why not the same thing with curor buffs?
Thanks,
Keyln

My name is Korpg and I approve of this message.
Also, stop making Cruor buffs wear off when we DC. kthx
They did say they were doing something about it. Right here.
Yes Please! Pets have feelings too!
Pets already have mass amounts of HP, you really think they need more?
Bst was my first 75 job 6 years ago and was my main for a long time, it was one of the few skillfull jobs to play well. Now any dumbass levels it abusing things like 100pdt and now since they cut that they want higher hp, I know it's a job for dunces these days but the way they keep wanting to make it even dumber and dumber and dumber annoys me somewhat.Quote:
Was thinking more along the lines of the stat increase personally, but if they got a hp increase is that gonna hurt you personally somehow?
umad etc
Yeah but really they only have to survive 40-50 seconds (whatever the min resmn is now) till a recast so not that bad I thought. Wyverns though I would agree with.Quote:
BST pets i agree, But Avatars and Wyverns... Kinda low lol.
Avatars especially, Have barely more HP than their Masters.
Not sure about avatars or bst pets, but Wyverns DO get cruor buffs. Slap on some wyvern +HP gear and wait for the % to drop, then get cruor HP enhancement. Their HP is filled to maximum and their breath potency also increases in accordance with increased HP.
BST Pet HP is high in Abyssea because you can't charm anything, if you can't solo NMs with the massive amount of leeway you've already been given then there's no reason for you to continue both playing BST or leaving Jeuno.
I don't think their HP increases from Cruor buffs, and I'm not sure it's refilled (unless I messed up this test somehow):

Get atma of the ducal guard and a good reward set, and if youre a SMN, go back to your roots of soloing pre abyssea, it isnt hard. And DRG pets? I dont even know what to say about that one lol.
I would love to have additional HP on my avatars, without sacrificing atmas to do so.
Unless they have an atma that gives HP+50% Regen+20 on it. I'll use that in a heartbeat. Still would want curor buffs for avatars too. Can't hurt to have +40 STR/DEX/AGI while soloing.
I like this.
I'd also like if Cruor buffs can be turns into 3 icons. One for all stats+, one for HP and one for MP. This wold help eliminate status buff spam while still allowing people to activate latents.
As a BST you can go stand at the side and heal them though, so yours only need to survive the 5 seconds it takes to run away out of AOE range.Quote:

Just because there are ways to get around the need of high HP, doesn't mean it wouldn't help.
I'm tired of people feeling threatened because the game is "easier." Mostly, it's not easier its just more convenient.
I've watched a bandwagon bst "dumb and dumber" solo NMs before and yeah they can do it. But they pay 4 times what i spend in supplies and end up taking twice as long.
Don't act like theres no longer any benefit for player skill and we can all just roam around being dumb dumbs because its easy now.
Diligent gear collection still distances noobs from pro's.
An intimate knowledge of game info still distances noobs from pro's.
Finesse and play skill still distances noobs from pro's.
I personally make my own challenges. If something is easy to me then i add on more. Example: when i needed 200 vermin kills during wind weather for my pet evasion axes, instead of killing things normally i wanted more of a challenge. So i collected 33 spiders and 7 bees from wajaom woodlands and kited them around a castle slowly lowering their HP with whirl claws until wind weather hit. Then i did 2 whirl claws and finished the trial. I had to invite several other people also doing the trials to stop them from messing it up, but i ended up finishing 9 peoples trials all at once. It was fun AND challenging. And its not something a bandwagon perle bst could of done. I got tons more examples but you get the point (i hope)
If you are threatened by these low skill bandwagon players then maybe you should put some more distance between you and them. I.E. "up your game" and hold yourself to higher standards.
On topic:
Yes please cruor buffs to pets. Thank you.
Please for the love of god stop complaining about the fact that new players *gasp* actually play BST now. I know it is terrible that you can't be all cool on your uber unpopular job anymore, but really, how does it hurt you to have people like me (still in full perle, working on my first set of magian axes) playing BST?
I do my best and recognize I have a long way to go but really the blatant elitism is pretty old now guys. It is one thing if you encounter a player who is deliberately stupid (hur dur... haste is dumb just makes you miss faster) or not interested in improving their gear choices at all - but we all have to start somewhere, so yeah, is it really necessary to complain about people who are just getting started on the job?
As for the OP cruor buffs for pets would be nice but they aren't really necessary.
Also, I have to say, sometimes I think a good half of the playerbase is morally opposed to anyone re-rolling or playing this game for the first time.
To someone who has been playing six to seven years, things are a lot easier now. A lot of people feel kind of ... slighted. It's hard to explain. Abyssea is a double-bladed sword; it's fast, but it's also easy to advance with little to no effort needed. I think it's because people see a lot of very bad players in pick-up parties and just get used to expecting that level of quality. They're not saying everyone is like that. So please don't be offended; we welcome hard-working new players to the job.
On topic, it depends. On the whole, pets do not need cruor buffs applied to them. Pretty sure PUP and BST do not need their pets boosted any, but wyverns could do with an update. Just give them more HP (they can get up to +24% more HP after gaining 1000 exp) and perhaps some DT-% like avatars - it really wouldn't hurt Dragoon any.
I don't mind people playing bst, I just find it offensive it became the dumbass easy job to get stuff done. 100pdt alone made tons of people level it cause they suck at doing stuff any other way, at least with any other method there is an amount of danger and you have to take some attention to it. Bst you can go make a coffee and watch tv while your gamesharked pet kills the mob for you. Heaven forbid you might have to kite for a little while between call timers like you would of had to do in the past or anything even slightly resembling tactics to kill a mob.Quote:

Not saying all bst suck, cause there are still some good bsts out there but really, people push for too much on a job already way into easy mode already. I'll come right out and say it, bst used to be a job you got respect for leveling and killing stuff on 5-6 years ago, now it's just a trash utility job.
I think pets definitely should get cruor buffs. Maybe not as high as players (ie, without abyssite enhancements), but a boost none-the-less. More HP means matons can take more of a punch, and more MP means they can cast more spells before getting Aspir locked at <75% MP.
You are basically saying that you hope your main job never gets any improvements from any more updates because that might make it attractive enough for other people to play it.
You are like one of those people who stop liking bands once everyone knows about them. Because it was never about the music to you. It was about making you feel special, because you were one of the few people who knew about this awesome band.
Bottom line you=elitist. You liked thinking "Only truly skilled people can play bst" Because that made you part of a small community of "truly skilled" people. Now the statement reads "Anyone can lvl bst" and you don't feel special anymore.
Well thats a B.S. way of looking at it.
I think it's unfair for you to hold an entire job hostage in the nerf zone just because you have a low self-esteem.
I hope pet jobs do continue to get stronger and i also hope more and more players are drawn to them.
Pets should definitely get the benefit of cruor buffs. I also don't see why they can't receive party buffs; SE already made that work with the NPC fellow.
Late here, but part of it is that pets not receiving cruor enhancements just harkens back to the days when one of the go-to responses of why you don't invite a BST to a merit parties was that buffing a BST was like buffing only half a damage dealer. This was back when BRDs held the distinction as being a premium EXP party job.
Atma, in a way, is actually an equalizer since the player in his/her entirety is getting enhanced by them. If they allow us to solo because we can coordinate the fight from a safe distance (especially since so many key NMs have powerful area attacks these days), that's really just the perk of having a disposable unit you can send to do your work. If our pet didn't get Atma, we'd still be weak damage dealers.
I suppose I could be disappointed that BST is an easy job to level now too. But I'd be more disappointed if we end up being as unpopular as we once were prior to Abyssea. At least now that we're more or less on equal footing with other damage dealers, people can invite you for your merits as a player rather than as a job, which I think is the way it always should have been. If you have accomplished more in Abyssea than the guy next to you, it will show.
You've been bitter at least once before about having awesome BST damage dealer gear and watching the Domaru SAM next to you get an invite and not you. And don't pretend you haven't been there.
While this certainly would be cool, do we really need it? The wyvern is the only really weak pet inside abyssea, and I'd much rather SE do something more practical like give us Heal Breaths IV and V already since the last one we got was III at level FORTY!
Abyssea's over & done with. So rather than having cruor buffs work on them, and I know this is stepping on COR's toes, but why not instead change it so songs and phantom rolls work on pets?
Well, not even players need cruor buffs, if that is what you are talking about. The idea to give pets the buffs is just for balance reasons. That pet jobs shouldn't be worse than no-pet jobs.Quote:

And yea, songs and rolls should have worked on pets from day one. SE just don't have the slightest clue about balancing jobs. Or rather, I don't think they even count pets as part of the game.
But then how else would my wyvern die instantaneously against Cirein-Croin and with the newly added (annoying) reliance on him how else would I lose a ton of DPS? And how do you expect the community staff to keep ignoring this issue if they don't keep not responding to these threads and the devs keep on not addressing the issue?
You're missing my point entirely - Adjustments to Abyssea, while nice, aren't really needed. My only personal gripes with it are losing buffs on DC (being fixed), Bastion ending seconds after starting due to rolfcopterweak NPCs, and camping timed spawns for Empyreans. All 3 of theses issues have been dealt with to a degree (the 1st one slated to be axed entirely so yay on that point) but again, I'm digressing - Abyssea is DONE. We're moving back outside of it for the 91~99 endgame content, which so far is looking to be voidwatch where we thus far don't have God Mode buffs.
Abyssea isn't about to lose popularity any time soon, but neither is it going to be the primary focus for level 99 players. That's why I don't feel it should be the focal point of future updates. The odd buff & here is nice but not a priority.
All that said, I will add that I much prefer Voidwatch's approach to staggering and would like to see Abyssea and Dynamis adjusted to mirror it in so far as to remove the TP/Casting stipulations. Shinryu is particularly aggravating to stagger for example (his drop rates are ridiculous as well, even with Blue Stagger but I highly doubt SE will be adjusting that, ever.)
Back to the original point - I'm not so sure pets even need cruor buffs. BST can already wipe the floor with several of the nastier NMs with Dipper Yuly and Avatars apparently get the full benefit of Ducal Guard at 100% HP?
The extra stats would however be much appreciated on automatons & wyverns as they're relatively frail compared to the other two but how often do you see DRG or PUP used outside of EXP burns or the few people who refuse to play another more useful job? (Note: I'm not hating on DRG or PUP, just pointing out that there are far more efficient jobs for getting things done in Abyssea)
Voidwatch is honestly not interesting in any way. I checked one of the atmacites.Quote:

lvl 1: 1% HP, 1 STR, 1 INT
30k cruor later you can get
lvl 2: 1% HP, 1 STR, 2 INT
It is like I just look at it and say... "That won't make a single difference, I'll just ignore atmacites completely".
Atma is the only thing SE ever did right. It is a shame we are now heading downhill again for bad content that will make you wish you quit already.
I should probably add that I share your opinion that the staggering has improved from Abyssea, but that is the only thing since Abyssea that has been better.
They should make the rest of the game in abysea atmas god mode - end of story. Really there is no reasons at all to go back to the ancient retarded mode of 10 years ago. Abysea is now and it should be implemented everywhere. And yes to cruor buffs to pet, avatar, wyvern and automaton. I doubt they will do anything about this though. When it comes to pet based job, SE attitude has always been FU and screw you.
Dynamis is pretty much like Voidwatch to some extent.Quote:

There is no TP/Casting Stipulation in Dynamis. You can proc any time at all, Even during 2hours. (which incidentally removes their 2hour effect too, test yourself with a THF or PLD lol).
I think Dynamis' proc system was probably one of the better, Its just the % proc on WS/Magic is too low, JA is just right though...
Approve of thread.
