New Weapon Skills

Hey DEV TEAM,

I'm curious to ask if any NEW Weaponskills from SoA will be in the works. We have all this amazing new gear from SoA but as of now people without REM are rocking out level 96 Merit WS.

ToA brought us Mythic WS
Zilart brought us Relics
Abyssea brought us Emp/Merits

Would be nice to bring us up-to-date with the ilvl gear, WR, Delve, craft weapons we are getting.

Not that Merit Weapon skills are bad but so far SoA presents us with all these amazing items, at some point New Weaponskills would be great!

After all SoA is meant to be true End game content. Just waiting on you Matsui to surprise us with end game Weaponskills!

Anyone else Agree or Disagree?

I would have to disagree. If any new weaponskill isn't better than what currently exists, nobody will use it.

Yeah that's what I was asking for. Better weapon skills to accommodate the new ilvl equipment than be stricted to level 96 Weaponskills. =p

There isn't a lot of room for improvement on WSs besides the ones which simply are bad due to easily fixable flaws that were intentionally designed into the WS itself. For instance, no merit WS is a crit WS, none of them so far as I know can crit, which sucks. Req is built with a -20% Attack penalty, yet, all of the jobs which primarily use swords are on the lower end of attack besides possibly BLU. There are random mods on some of them like AGI or INT, which are flat out not helpful for the WS.

If they made new WSs for every type of weapon, they would need to either have bonus effects which make them better, crit, or move above 100% mods. All of which sound unlikely to me, but I wouldn't object to new WSs either way.

i would rather have them even out existing WSs and make magical WS actually usefull now that they have fallen into total oblvion due to raise of base dmg of weapons. Like wildfire for example ¬.¬, hell even makeing other magical WS usefull would go a long way.

Demon pretty much nailed it. The ws's that are suck, or are handicapped, are done so deliberately.

I'm certain SE is aware that Requiescat is the only sword ws worth using right now and that most every DRK uses a GS rather than a scythe. Things, literally, are working as intended, even if we don't understand the reason.

Ether you add a ws in a category that noone uses, or it's good enough that noone uses anything else, there's no in-between.

CoP + WoTG + SoA didn so its equal again 3 Add ons with WS 3 without sounds balanced (Trololol)

anyways lemme throw in another idea yes?

I have Spharai and would like to use Final Heaven without it maybe SE should work on a Quest for Spharai user?
same with Vere plz?

thats what i'm worried about atm and not new WS to be honest !

Besides the sarcasm, that's actually not true. While we could not use WSs outside of Campaign, there were Campaign weapons which allowed us to use their assigned Weapon Skills. The function is exactly like that of a near completed Relic, where it works perfectly fine in Dynamis. The only difference is the fact we can not make them into fully functional weapons. So really they did add WSs in WotG, just not WSs we still use today really.

They said the fall update is when they are updating RMEs, with a level 99RME you will be able to upgrade them, not sure to what level, or what stats, but it will be possible. Also, we will be able to learn Empyrean WSs, though the exact method is unknown, originally it was to be Coin weapons only, this may still be the case, very little detail has been given. However, this information you are talking about has been announced by SE recently.

Give Dancers a B- in swords and let us have Requiescat. ^^

Merit WSes weren't from abyssea, just sayin :p.
