I have a question about this quest. When I have the Crawler Blood from a treasure chest, do I need to go back to Curilla before I can examine the ??? and bury the boots or not?

I've read different guides and some say you have to and others that you don't.

No, you just have to wait till Japanese Midnight before checking the ??? again. however you will get a CS if you return to her, its all on weather you want to see the CS or not.
