Probably because your WHM sucks.

I said the DIFFERENCE was 3k. That means the DIFFERENCE between a wrongly geared (Not WS SET) WAR using Ukko's was 3k, so 3k damage compared to 6k damage.

Seriously, there's a huge problem if you WS in AF3+2 body on WAR, or even AF3+2 hands inside abyssea. There's also a huge problem if you TP in AF3+2 head on WAR, or hands if you're not capping haste.

The difference between you NOT gear swapping and me gear swapping is the difference between a WIN and a LOSS in MANY situations. I can't count how many times PDT set on WAR has lead to a quick and easy win, specially in things outside of Abyssea where you can't count on Reraise over and over and over and over.

Holy crap, a WHM dying in Abyssea means they suck plain and clear. How the hell did they get hate anyway? Cure V is virtually hateless. FFS WHM should be able to kite almost anything, specially if it casts.

No, they originally /facepalmed because a healer walked in and didn't know what <stpc>/stal was.. Even if you don't gearswap, all healers should use it anyways. You never know when you will encounter a player who does. And no one is forcing you to gear swap. They're telling you the advantages of gear swapping and how you remain ignorant of them.

I can't force anyone to gear swap, though I can kick them out of my LS/Party for wasting my time.

As for me, the biggest advantage of gear swapping is:

Goals.

I enjoy setting a goal and going out and obtaining it. It's even more enjoyable when that goal makes my performance better, and allows me to help out my team even more.

You know it's hard to sit on the sidelines sometimes when I usually see someone posting stuff that makes me scratch my head but I guess it's time to step up to the plate...

Party wipes happen because some mobs can be a royal pain in the ass like Apadamak. However logic dictates that a player with skill and the ability to macro swap gearsets has a higher chance of success vs someone with skill and no gear swaps. This is an undenyable truth. You could be your server's lance for all I care and if i saw you never swapping gear for cures, enfeebling, Tp or WS gearsets, I'd mock you from here to sunday.

Gear is the difference between a good player and a poor one who doesn't really care. I've told several newer players, or inexperienced players about gear swapping, and how much it helps, and they ALWAYS thank me afterwards with results that simply astound them.

I mean, rosina, you talk about getting help for stuff, or giving help as it would be, but what in the world do you need help for? Storyline? It's almost all duoable, if you're good. I have a feeling though, that with out correct gear (Cure Potency on healers says hi, while hMP sets or Refresh sets outside Abyssea also wish to say hi, or also having a good Stoneskin set says hi) you'd be doing a great job.

I'll kick you if you don't gear swap, even if you're a great friend (DEATHGOD IF YOU READ THIS GET YOUR ****ING TP HAT OUT OF YOUR STORAGE YOU MORON), I'll tell you to FIX IT, because you're making ME look bad.

I feel like when I play BLU, all I do is gear swap... I don't see how it would even be possible to successfully play the job without gear swaps, as most physical spells SUCK without proper changes. Not to mention 700CW compared to 5k...

i'm still missing the Loki body and the Aias Bonnet for my CW set and the ASA pants for -PDT
but i can still pull a larg group and still one shot.

also the blu spell Occultation u need a 400+ skill to get 8 blink shadows wich u need gear swaping for

I only just saw this post. 95% of it is impossible to decipher. However, regarding the bolded part:

I soloed the avatars a long time ago as 75nin/26rdm (war and nin were my only 75 jobs back then) using refresh drinks. And I didn't gearswap back then because I didn't know any better. My point? Those were never hard and saying you "tanked" them means nothing.

Oh and Rosina, as a sidenote: you do realize you can swap neck, rings, earrings, belt and mantle and it won't make your character blink, right? Even swapping only those gearpieces would improve your performance.

Who doesn't swap gear anymore? What is this 2004?

Rosina is able to survive while not gear swapping due to something very simple: While everyone else gear swapping and contributing to the party, Rosina was not doing any damage and not really contributing anything at all. Due to having the lowest amount of hate, she easily lived longer than everyone else.

I was on drg/whm farming dune widow to sell the torque and make some money, and saw a friend there soloing cactrot rapido as rdm/nin.
He got hit once through stoneskin so i cure 3'd him, after a while i just got bored of watching so i proceeded to walk to the outpost for teleportation, when i was just at the op npc, cactrot rapido came and raped my ass and then came back to my friend and 10k needle'd his ass XD

I had a similar event happen the other day when I was killing pots for the final Earth magian trial. I ran by a Japanese white mage soloing Teek, but it looked as if they were low on HP. I gave a little friendly cure, since Teek looked like he was almost dead and the taru looked as if it'd be smooth sailing from there. Well, needless to say I was very confused when about ten minutes later I was getting brutally destroyed by ga spells from a supposedly sleeping pot. Nope, come to find out Teek had killed that taru and was coming after me!

We almost managed to kill it but can only do so much when weakened. XD

Moral of the story: don't cure random strangers because it will most likely come back to bite you in the butt.

The fun part is that i was trying to help him, and what i did was mpk him XD
If you are trying to solo Cactrot rapido on rdm you can't give him tp or he will probably 10k needle your ass, and actually he got enought Tp for that by hitting me.

No, but it can max your hp / mp, allow you to max out your attack / damage, and allow you to heal more mp per rest session than not doing so.

My Favourite Noob Moment was when i first started years ago was soloing in Dunes and a cocky 75RDM came by showing off his "greatness", pulled all the mobs he could, ran out of mp so he converted then got killed.

not only seen them, but like most of us at 1 time or another made some.

the most common is getting into the field after a job change, trying to fight and whammo, wrong macro set! This was alot worse in the older days with so few macros...

also common, I'm so used to playing jobs with an innate stealth, or else through my subjob that I rarely carry oils/powders anymore. But just recently I started leveling ranger/nin or occasionally /dnc, only to forget I won't have full stealth until 50 with either sub, and while I have oils, powders, mats and lvl 60 alch, they are not in satchel/sack.

Several times i've maw warpped to the wrong zone

leveling nin, specifically skilling up ninjitsu, only brought shehei, shinobi tabi and sanjaku-tengu, all other tools in mog locker

very early days (2nd week playing), didn't know elementals aggro magic, Sneak>>dead party

1st time mining, brought 1 pick, broke on 1st try, wtf? I've used picks RL, they last years

seen innumerable times "what's this (name of mob you've never heard of)?" Aggro>>death to NM
