Hanuman is my #1 pick
Monkey with magic fruit. Opo's are naturally strong for their level as well so it seems like a great pick.
Between Ruszor and slime, Ruszor please.
Fun to have a big, interesting looking pet who has a good attack.

Ruszor, no question.
Ruszors are way cooler than slimes by miles. Why would you want a little puddle of glop when you can have a giant walrus with massive fangs?
+1 Ruszors
Ruszor. I wish we knew a lot more about what it's going to come out the gate with since this being awesome is conditional on it keeping its TP stuff. Then again, better DD is what I want... so I would choose the ruszor over the slime either way, I think. However, and this needs to be stressed again I think, I want the scorpion if the Ruszor is going to be lessened in any way.
For the rest, the original assessment stands. If this opo-opo is going to come out with all of Hanuman's actual abilities, I'd choose that. If not, the hippogryph. We're looking down the barrel of having only one untested avian jug, and I'd rather have another in case the apkallu isn't so great at DDing. As for the crab, the model is cool, but I don't care about using it as a pet. I'm sure any tanking role it could possibly be destined for will be handled handsomely by the adamantoise.
The Adamantoise isn't going to be a jug pet. SE stated that it'll be more like the avatars Odin and Alexander.
I can't choose which pet from the list I'd prefer because it all depends on what SE nerfs, and what kinda charges they place on the various Tactical Point moves. It's nice to know what's being considered though.
Oh, ok. I had thought it was, and it was specifically behemoths and other nasty extra-things they were planning to do that with. Either way, ditch the crab.
At this point its like we are picking the prom king and queen. All we know about them is that someone is captain of the football team and someone else has big boobs. A popularity contest for bst's isn't really the best way to decide the future of the job <_<
Without info you CANT say that a ruszor jug pet would be a stronger dd then a slime, or make and definitive statements about any of the possible new pets. There is no way of knowing what SE plans to do with trait, stats, or tp moves. All though assuming that something about a pet is going to be nerfed or not is what we have gotten used to unfortunately. I just like to think with this being the last tear of jugs that they will be special and help bst to achieve what ever SE was going for when they made bst.
But anyway I'll be voting for the Hippogryph today. Dipper is well... I don't think I have to say it. I would love a stronger thf pet ^^
Why can't we get 4 new jugs and get Ruszor and Hippogryph!
Give us more bang for our buck Camate!
PLEASE!!!
Utility over Aesthetics for me, I leveled the job to get stuff done, Not play dress up with my pet.
Slime > Ruszor.
Slime for me.
I'll take a pet that can be used as a decent tank with heavy physical resistance over a fancy-looking Walrus (if Slugs lost their Absorb Water trait, So will Ruszors, Don't get your hopes up on that).
Only way they could screw up slime is if they nerfed its HP or Resistance... Which they haven't done extensively to any mob. All pets retain their resistances (Yuly: Wind, Fargann:Water, and so forth).
That being said, I'd take a Hippogryph over them all if it kept its THF-Job.
Ruszor plz
Ruszor, yes
Slime and Hippogryph!
Make the Hippogryph a THF!
1. Slime
2. Hippogryph
based on the list, id say if there isn't a jug pet that can ready magic, id go for the Hecteyes. thatd open up some interesting opportunities.
if not that, then Chigoe provided they don't explode on being crit. theyd have to be a bit more sturdy. ive always wanted to chuck those lil guys at things. good memories ^_^.
Hippogryth is another good pick, as are any other monster we can't already bring out from the jugs, especially the exotic ones like the Ruszor, but those are my two picks. Hecteyes and Chigoe.
I feel like I'm choosing between two bowls of s**t here... I know I said ruszor as one of my alternative choices earlier but i still stand by my hecteyes choice or for Altana's sake give us a sea monk.
Ruszor. You're going to nerf the slime all the hell.
Well lets look at what determines what pet we use. Need damage? Use a pet with a crit hit tp move. Right now we have access to Rabbit, with a 1 charge crit hit ws, a massive 1 charge aoe damage, a single target paralyze, and an aoe curaga. It woukd be hard to find that arsenal on another jug.
Tiger may replace it, a scorpion definately would do more damage, but the Opo-Opo will do more damage, has a crit hit tp move, can dispel, and can cure itself. Pebble Throw! lol
Second choice would be Rukzor simply for the elemental resists.
Give us an Ixion :)
Need more info on what would be changed on slimes and ruszors from their transition from wild mobs to jug pets to really make a decision. I'd honestly be happy with either. Both are nasty pieces of work in their own way. I only lean towards ruszors because I was really hoping for something unique for out last jugs.
One the other hand, if Hippogryph was a THF Id vote for that over everything x1000 lol
Slime for me.. BST could do with a fine high damage resistance jug outside of Abyssea for blood tanking. Voidwatch is punishing enough for BSTs as it is.
Are so many players really voting based on what the model looks like???
Please Beastmasters, gamepay is so much more significant than the model of the pet!! The interaction of pet abilities and traits, THATS what will make the difference.
Slimes are nice pets, but really, WE have TONS of pets that can tank well (not to mention eta biscuits + dawn mulsum mean there are few situations we cannot keep pet alive indefinitely. ESPECIALLY when its just physical damage.... how much -pdt pet gear is there!!! slime will be completely worthless for tanking something that casts decent magic... if you want another tank.. get somethign w/ good magic resistance, but really, don't you want some better dd output and/or unique traits/abilities instead?!!?)
Bsts need a pet that can DD well. You can already do well enough for tanking with what you have. A slime will most likely get a nerf down to the point where you'd pick a mob that does more damage anyway despite dying slightly faster.
You already have a high eva/thf (TH) pet, which is the ladybug. Ruszor gives bst something they don't have already.
Also, the Adamantoise *is not* going to be a 2hr mob. It was stated to be a jug pet along with the apkallu around the 99 cap update. So it's already there for tanking. It was stated that Behemoth like mobs would be the 2hr pets for bst just like Alex/Odin are 2hr only for smn.
Ruszor is honestly the only way to go.
"Since of course Behemoth and the four gods are quite popular, as we mentioned in the job concepts briefly, we would like to look into implementing these as a special type of pet similar to the avatars Odin/Alexander."
Camate mentioned this earlier in the thread. Don't vote based on the fact that you think the Genbu type mob they showed us will be a jugpet.
If Ruszors don't have their tp moves nerfed, or come with 3 charge uses then I'd vote for them. We really need more statistical info on these pets though. If for nothing else it would help avoid any future arguments within the beast community based upon who voted for what.
That's like saying we don't need anymore damage dealing pets because we have the sheep.
I'd like the option to choose from different mob types even if we already do have a TH pet. Hippogryph is bird-type, and cool ;P Choke Breath and Nihility Song sound nice (though will be nerfed knowing SE), and let's not forget monster correlation.
Ecosystem advantages and jug diversity, yes please.
My vote goes to Slime.
Hecteyes. For that matter, give out two different Hecteyes jugs - one that's just like a normal one, and one that's lighter-colored and uses only white magic. (That second one would just be an entertaining mob to see added to the game in general. There aren't enough true-WHM mobs to fight out there.)
Camate i think we need a re-vote. This topic is too sidetracked by misunderstandings and misinformation.
Most people don't even realize that you are only planning to implement 1 of these pets. And are voting for 5-6 pets.
Other people think your last message meant "pick between slime and ruszor" when it meant slime and ruszor have the most votes atm.
And ultimately none of us have enough details to make this decision.
Just in case, we don't get more info, or a recount.
Let me break it down for some of you.
I guarantee ruszor wont keep its magic shield and physical shield. Why would they nerf our DT just to give it back to us in the form of a TP move? And the slug shows us that they consider healing from a particular element to strong to leave unerfed. If your voting for ruszor its a vote driven by wishful thinking.
If you want pure DD you should be voting for SCORPION. I promise you it will be the highest DD jug we have ever had. The damage of jug pets is largely affected by pet attack. Sharp strike is a 50% atk boost that lasts for 4 min and 15 seconds. This is 2 times as strong as berserk from warrior without the defense down and lasts for a whole minute longer. On top of that, it has Death scissors wich is a nice single target, and wild rage wich is a nice AoE, while still maintaining many debuffs. And on a side note, scorpions are immune to poison. This makes several NMs that used to be troublesome due to poison auras, much easier.
If you want another evasion tank with MORE offense, then you should be voting for HIPPOGYPH
If you want another physical tank you should be voting for SLIME, (please keep in mind we have lots of physical tank options atm)
If you want a strong DD (not as strong as scorpion but still high DD) with utilitarian options then you should be voting for HANUMAN.
If you want a strong magic tank you should be asking for a CRAB (keeping in mind we already have lots of tanks)
Until Camate graces us with more info on the parameters of the pets on the master list, all the other pet options are pretty much red herrings and thus potentially wasted votes.
• Hippogryph
• Scolopendrid (Scorpion)
• Hecteyes

Agree with everything you said in your post, but I think it's too late at this point. Now we can justhope That SE doesn't remove the abilities and traits that most people are expecting these monsters to have in jug form, or at the very least reduce the effectiveness rather than completely removing them.
Opo-opo.
Monkeys. Monkeys everywhere.
Between these two I will vote Ruszor since I think we need a proper DD pet. Still a huge miss to not get Scorpion or his golden big brother though. But yeah, out of Ruszor and slime, Ruszor will do.
You are wrong Faithful, go look at the bst manifesto, it is clearly stated there they are adding The turtle mob to call beast.
h yeah...one more thing.
Now this is me talking about the future, but we have had a lot of request to use HNM monsters and have bird-type pets, so we are thinking it might be about to time to add these monsters to the arsenal of Call Beast:

This bad boy is envisioned as being implemented as the size of the ones residing in Abyssea.
Click image for larger version Name: apkallu.jpg Views: 21 Size: 91.5 KB ID: 439
Apkallu…
You probably are hoping for your own Colibri, eh?
Slime
and
Karkinos
Scolopendrid (Golden Scorpion)
But I want it to be able to use the HNM moves:
1. Hell Scissors - major damage with Critical chance
2. Stasis - damage + potent paralysis
3. Sharp Strike - 50% attack bonus
4. Evasion - 50% evasion bonus
Ruszor - Bigger the better!
Hippogryph or Ruzor, or just give Guttler access to Behemoth. Then no one will care about jugs just like no one charms anything anymore.
Here's my vote: give us all of them!
No, seriously... why does it have to be this vs. that? Beastmaster should have a plethora of pets, calling the pet that's appropriate to the situation at hand, giving himself adaptability and versatility. The question is, which pets (plural) should we get, just each on an individual basis.
This is SE we're talking about. I somewhat cast doubt that if you get slimes, you're going to get a super mega damage resist tank pet. Besides that, Ruszors don't exactly have crappy abilities.Quote:

The preceeding statement is an opinion, not to be interpreted as fact. Honestly, I don't see any reason why they shouldn't give both.
