Ah, it's good to see that the notice wasn't actually supposed to be sent out, though now I'm curious to when distribution is going out. I, among others, can't help but feel communication has been poor about this event. I'm also very disappointed by the fact my two long-time friends and LSmates were unable to enter when they tried to.

Supposedly items are already being sent out.

Nvm the people wearing Ark Angel costumes were JP, so apparently they get them too.

I believe they received their items at Vana'fest. I also spotted a Nomad Moogle Dealer, the ones that take slips from the mog bonanza, in Port Windurst the other day. Maybe they are just now being able to trade their stuff in from their Mog Bonanza.

Admittedly, I kinda just wanna win my Heka's D: Akvan has been so cruel.

After the 27th of July, it seems. This is based off the recent Heroine's Holdfast announcement, where they invited us to try out the event on the 20th or 27th on the test server with them "before the athena orbs will be delivered on the real servers" or something. Those orbs are part of the rewards from this event, so the delivery date is probably after the 27th and certainly after the 20th.

My husband was completely screwed out of this contest, so unfair. He has been playing this game since the USA release and since we linked our POL accounts into 1 SE account so we can use just 1 security token, he decided to be a gentleman and step aside to let me enter so I can potentially get a moogle outfit. So wrong, he wants a fair shot like everyone else but cant because we decided to share a security token...

Square, that is INCREDIBLY unfair and you should seriously look into having rules that don't alienate paying members. Together we pay $54 a month to play this game, over $600 a year and this is the thanks we get...

It's possible to unlink an account.

SquareEnix is actually against shared accounts.

I wouldn't risk it. That's how I lost my JP account. I un-linked it per the instructions from the rep at SE, so that I could link it to my NA account and not have to use webmoney any more.

The account did not un-link correctly and No one at SE will fix it. When it comes to FFXI, I would never make a change to your account unless you have to. Terrible is not a strong enough word when it comes to support at this company.

Tried offering them a reward if they gave us a date for ours? :D Goblins are known to like chocolate and shinnies if I do recall. Then again probably got them mixed up with the other species in game being my luck XD

As mentioned, they're against account sharing (a violation of the User Agreement actually), so it's not really surprising it's like that.

Even so, I would hope for future events that they would restrict it to 'PlayOnline' accounts rather than SqEX accounts, because many players have more than one POL account linked into one SqEX account for convenience. For what reason are punished for it like this? They pay the full price and all... except for a plausible additional Security Token purchase. That must be it! >.>;

Account credentials are not to be shared, but this does hurt something that is legitimate just as well (as oh so many rules do, sadly).

In layman's terms: It sucks.

Nevertheless, I do appreciate the event, I'm not saying that it's all bad!
So thank you for making it possible in the first place ! !! !

I did notice someone in an Ark Angel costume the other day, so it's likely that they're indeed already at it (for the Japanese, probably).

Didn't check them, but I can't remember any other item giving such a costume so I'd guess that is as they say, that.

Nope, actually it's not possible. Tried it. I'm in the same situation as Apie. The only exception is with accounts linked to the wrong region, and as FrankReynolds said, they couldn't even do that correctly.

Best you can do Apie is to complain about it to SE reps and hope that enough others are doing so that they'll change the policy. Edit: Oh, and by that I don't mean to submit the complaint via the forums, but through the support center.

Yeah, from what the few customer service reps. who didn't just say "No, you can't do that" and hang up on me have said, it is possible to unlink / relink an account. But, I definitely would not do that unless I absolutely had to. Their service is just way too wonky to risk your account with.

It's not the first time I find inconsistent articles there, it's a mess, though I am unsure if there really is such a difference between regions in this case... At this point, I would even be surprised.

That first article is the one that I first read. I then contacted them and was told to just "Un-link it, and re-link to my NA account."

This is not the case. You have to contact SE support to complete the un-link process after you un-link via the website, before you can re-link. The problem being that apparently JP support just keeps ignoring my requests and directing me back to NA support, who says that they can't complete the un-linking of a JP account.

I'm like "Please... just take my money... Please... I... I want.. to give you my money..."

Oh yeah, I would probably never ever go and try that even if it means I will miss out on participating in a 'lottery'. >.<

Such are the horrors of account management in FFXI (one might mention a gamble even, ho ho)...

So um.... where's the reps to give us another update with the gobs o.o? I got to see the taru ark angel and was like that is freaking awesome. Now wanting to know where the gobs are so we can sit there and stare at them til they make up their minds lol.

Pretty much. Because Moogle Bonanza clashes with gambling laws in NA and EU countries.

So I guess that means that there will be about a dozen lucky JP players with a new relic/mythic/empyrean and NA/EU get to share one. This must be that balance I always hear about.

It's not like Japan can just influence NA and EU to drop them or have them not apply to virtual items. It does in our countries and the nature of both events just are what they are.

Technically in the bonanza there is a chance no one might win the first prize.

Jus sayin, they could have implemented something similar across all regions. It's true that there is a chance no one would win in Japan, but the chance of either NA or EU being completely snubbed by golden gobbiebag is 100%.

They'll probably come up with something better for next year. That's being optimistic but they have to be careful with the gambling law or they can get a lawsuit; which makes giving out prizes on a widescale being a problem without it being a lottery.

A little late, but it would say something along the lines of “region is different” were you to follow the link intended for the European users, while using an American account (and vice versa).
