Retired from XI last year. The thing about retirement, is ppl can always come back......
Basically, I paid $12.95 to come to a abandoned forum, to discuss an abandoned system.
This this system has immense potential.
Monstrosity is the grind the dev team is seeking. They are implementing all these crazy grinds, but the not the grind many wanted.......

A 50 page thread during this time was rare. 2013-16 Was the down-swing.
Monstrosity has one glaring flaw, that needs to be addressed imo......
We seen this with limited jobs in XIV. They feel empty, because they are isolated from the rest of the game. Monstrosity should be incorporated into the main game..... over time. Perhaps, little by little....open up more main game activities for MONs to partake in.
Allow players to partake in activities outside the feretory. How? Don't know........Perhaps, since monipulators "Are not supposed to be there," the corpselight can only grant this status for allotted time (Similar to signet or food effects works). Being able to take your Monsters to Nation missions, BCNM, Ambuscade, Salvage, etc, will make the content more meaningful (Even if it is solo). MONs tend to be OP. So, maybe limit the frequency this can be done.
There must be a meaning behind every grind. Otherwise, players will not give chase, or explore......
(
Using small treats or food as "bait" on a hamster wheel is a commonly recommended method to encourage a hesitant hamster to explore and start running on it. "
Example, Give worthwhile rewards for ppl who participate in Belligerency. Even if players lose, they gain desirable rewards such as Abdhaljs Seals. Thus, ppl will partake in the system....due to this item's scarcity. Players will be forced to do Belligerency pretty much, to maximize seal earnings.
Many MMO players dislike grinds. However, they engage in them, because players deem the rewards worthwhile. If Infamy had similar rewards to Gallantry or Hallmarks, Belligerency's population may rival Mhaura.
MMO players will
not do nothing, for nothing........Monstrosity is a great idea, but needs love & care from the dev team to fully recognize its' potential. It is a bare-bones system, with massive potential that could increase the player population if done correctly.
That PvP system has me intrigued........Casual pvp? Sign me up, as a non-pvper. Rewards must be worthwhile however......
