Can we get another rhapsody thingy?

To give a comparison, i can get 45 merits in about 20 minutes. For those 45 merits i can almost completely merit a job. And 45 merits in a job changes it more than 200 job points in that same job. So why do the 200 job points take longer to get than the 45 merits?
