DM has all the problems of orig skirmish augments and more.
Dark matter augments is garbage, not even worth the trip to norg.
Honestly, I don't like the RNG augment system at all (DM or not). If we could lock in a stat (even with a rare item) and then proceed to random how low or high it is, I'd be okay with that. It'd be better than a complete reroll of all stats and abilities on a given piece. :{
The Delve path system, Ambuscade Capes, Zi'Tah, and Ru'Aun, is where I really like to see gear progress (unless there's another idea). That way you know a set amount of effort will get you what you need/want. Instead of praying to RNGesus every time for a good roll. This game is completely about dice rolls. ;-;
I agree. I don't mind having to invest into good gear but the RNG is a bit wide. Like it's great that if you're willing to invest, you can be "better" than the other guy wearing the exact same base gear but ... the RNG width is absurd. The fact that a stone can give you int+1 and the very next same stone can give you INT+10 MAB+30 MACC+30 MBD+5 is... silly.
DM, I would give its own slot that pursued a special stat, even if it matched another augment already on the gear. Say you had a piece of valorous that was like
Pet: Acc+30 Att:30 DA+3%
And you rolled for a pet-offensive augment, you could also get Pet: DA+RNG% (or STP, Crit Rate, Etc).
That would be awesome. However, I would want it to not be dark matter actually.
We already have a sparse supply and to ask it to be even better will mean the dark matter's prices will rise astronomically - one material is used for a large number of endgame synths, reforging, and Resienjima aug. I don't believe that to be a good thing.
Honestly with the fact they've made Dark Matter used in so many things now DM augments should be a daily thing period, not just a campaign.
Actually I agree and I think I was overzealous earlier.
Should be one way or the other:
Pick the type of stat you want the DM to go for -OR- DM can add one special aug to an already aug'd piece of gear but you don't get to pick.
I much prefer #2. I feel like all the DM campaigns to do is give us reason to use more inventory space. I'm farming a herc body right now, hoping for a good phalanx or great MAB augment. Hmm.
Hello, everyone!
I just wanted to give you all a heads up on a nice quality of life change that will be taking place in the upcoming version update!
No longer will you need to be out of the /yell loop while in Mhaura, as we will be expanding the areas in which the /yell feature can be used to the three starting nations and other outlying cities.
- Add a survival guide in Purgonorgo Isle.
- Better rewards from clamming.
- Login points rewards: chocobo eggs, linen coin purse (alex.), incursion chests, special gobbie dial keys, dynamis 100 pieces, new unique sunglasses (possibly moogle, chocobo, or even plain black styled shades). Overall a wider variety per month would be nice.
Cant you just get to Purgonorgo Isle via the voidwatch npc?
Also the summer armor provides a free warp. Not that these other methods negate the need for a Home point or survival guide.
Yeah I could be down with a survival guide there. You could even justify a HP since the Isle looks like a resort getaway. It needs a gift shop !
Can we get a leafkin mount?
Make Trizek ring avalable anytime for returning players to pick up. And any other capacity point bonus rings.
What about adding a recipe for using Tanning Key Item for Behemoth Leather? We can use a tanning vat and make x3 leather for most other leather... It can be bought at the mog garden in bulk now and is used as a pop for Reisenjima.
Behemoth Leather x3
Key Item: Tanning
Behemoth Hide x 3
Distilled water
Windurstian Tea Leaves x 3
Tanning Vat
Can we please get more voidstones? I can't fully participate in the next VW campaign because I don't have that many stones...
Could we have the voidstones produced via trading dust go directly into our stock instead of going into our KI? Or, if we already have the 3 KI, go into stock after that?
I have many many unused conquest points which I would gladly spend on dust. 8D
Ohhh good idea Mithlas. I also now support the push for faster voidstone recharge. Sense has been talked into me.
When monthly updates have adjustments with wide-sweeping impact, can you please give us at least the most basic numerical info?
The adjustment to monster evasion implemented this month only states "The evasion of high-level monsters has been decreased."... Does this mean 135+? 119+? 100+? Are normal monsters included or is it limited to NMs only? I've long since given up hope that you will tell us everything relevant to this type of change, but a general idea towards what content will be affected would be much appreciated, especially regarding anything that can't be simply tested ourselves by checking our own stats while changing gear.
And when are you going to add the help text for Rusk foods? They are the only foods left on Curio Moogle that don't have help text and they keep getting passed over each month. I am exceedingly curious about why this is at this point. XD
(I tried to ask this during the AMA, but brain-farted and said "Macaron" instead.)
It would be nice if the Abyssea confluxes were marked on the map like the Adoulin bivouacs.
Make an NPC that will trade you x1 rems tale chapter for maybe 2 or 3 of another. Chapters 1-5 are only tradable for 1-5 and the same for 6-10.
Could you fix/change subtle blow to help alleviate the issue with TP move frequency?
Maybe you could make a new job trait for MNK, NIN, or SAM that has a chance on hit to inhibit a mobs TP gain. This would also have to stop their innate Regain. I say MNK, NIN or SAM because it fits with those jobs and would give them more desirability in group comps.
Heya. I have a few random suggestions I would like to see so am placing them here.
1) Merit Weaponskills: Can we have the merit points on these to the max please? so we can spend our points on them & get them all unlocked to max.
2) DRG Wyvern Breath damage: For level 100+, can I see a drastically big increase to the wyvern breath damage? At the moment, when I do Ambuscade, when I activate Smiting breath, it does hardly any damage, yet my trusts & myself do 1k+ damage every time I activate a weaponskill, etc.
3) Seals & Crests: If you're like me, us players have loads of seals & crests stocked up doing nothing. Is there a way to spend them on different things other than orbs? Exchange for Copper Vouchers maybe?
4) Add 20 points to both Merit Groups 1 & 2
5) Unlock Mog Sachel to everyone next time SE wants to do a storage upgrade.

One of the suggestions I've seen that I've really liked is that mastering a job allows you to fully merit everything for the job.
This, because -15m on 1hr isn't really much of a reason. If your strat depends on 1hr, you'll find a way to reset it (there are a few). Noone deliberately waits 40 minutes for the remaining duration--and that's assuming all the important 1hr's to your strategy are 2100s.
One thing that needs some serious looking at is the bad pathing for pets. It affects trusts somewhat too, but it's worse for pets and especially bad with chapulis(I'm guessing that leaping motion as they move is exacerbating things). They get hung up and stuck when the route across a floor gets to be a tight squeeze. Some trouble spots in particular are the holes in the floor on the upper level of Garliage, those ferns and roots in Yorcia, the pillars in all flavors of the Undersea Ruins, "single rock next to a bend" in a lot of tunnels, and those spiky rock/ice spires all over the place in Xarcabard. Once your pals get caught on these things usually the only way to get them unstuck is to walk back between the obstructions and lead them well around. Still it's ridiculous that it's even a problem, they should go right over/through that sort of thing like mobs do. At the very least, pet commands that bring your pet back to your side could warp them there instantly if you're sufficiently far away.
As someone that has been back about 9 months now, with under 400 JP I can tell you that it would not encourage me to grind out CP. It would make me want to quit the game.
It would not be a reward for having the stars, it would be a requirement. Grinding out 2.1k JP is an other worldly level of boring and soul destroying grind to me and if I had to do that, I would unsub tomorrow.
I know you can't see it from another players perspective and only see it from your own, that's why I'm trying to give you it from the other side.
Job points are already used to ostracize players from doing endgame, this would make that far, far worse.
As someone who types /sea all Burpforjebus and /sea all Jacert, you don't exist. Can't really get JP if you don't log in and play :)
Alternatively, it could create a greater impetus in the playerbase to make CP parties and not to just wait for a campaign to come around. Hell, you might even have players wanting to join parties en masse again rather than just waiting for their skilled friends to have a random CP itch.
Now that accuracy requirements have been decreased, seems like it's as good a time as any.
It won't happen though, FFXI has embraced solo player and as such the mentality of a lot of players has changed from the past. At any given moment the number of players grinding CP solo/duo dwarfs the amount who are in groups on Apex.
If the devs added this it would not only create an even bigger gulf between players, but top tier players will have even less desire to play anything but their capped jobs. It's a dumb idea all around once you scratch the surface.
What they should do imo for capped players is make it so that each mastered job gives an additional character wide 50% CP bonus to all other jobs. So 50% for one mastered job, 100% for 2 mastered classes, 150% for 3 etc. This will encourage the mindless grinders to cap out more and more jobs (which was the intention of JP anyway, cheap and easy long term grind content to keep people subbed)
If the developers would of had no issue with players having such a massive advantage they would of not made the reward for beating the master trials be a cosmetic, they would of put some crazy OP gear in it. That shows they are afraid of the possible gulf between players causing a mass exodus. As much as the elite players like to think otherwise, the scrubs are just as important as they are. When everyone is elite nobody is, when you can't show off how awesome your stars are then what's the point of having them show at all.
Half the people who are in favor of this would of raged their pants off is they had put IL120 gear in as a reward for beating master trials.
They need to add a reason for mastered players to get off their all powered job and grind other jobs up to master, not give them more reason to never swap.
CP activity has been down for several months because of the lack of campaign but for you to state that one dwarfs the other is just you pulling numbers out of thin air (same if I said vise versa).
I wish they'd stop with the campaign and just make double xp/cp full time.
There is some "cp grinding" you do casually, like when what you're really after is silt, or say farming Warders but CP'ing with the intent to get CP--there's no telling which way the pendulum swings.
You're adamant that XI is a solo game that has room for parties, and yet even many remotely hard bosses need humans to progress through (not overgeared-dominate). If t1 caturae are hard for your group, you're going to be depressed when Apururu uses all her mp to remove a curse, cure 6, remove a curse, cure 6, until she's out of mp or when everyone gets slept and she wakes Ulmia first (Ulmia, who does nothing but sings songs).
You're just giving the description of XI that fits how you want to play XI.
And no, allowing people to fully merit jobs as a 2100 couldn't possibly make me any more wanted on my 2100s than I already am.
Most jobs have a few great merit categories a few that are ... less spectacular and even a few that noone would ever merit in. Most jobs have the ability to get the great ones, and tap into the good ones.
That was the case long before JP were even a thing. I still don't have a mastered job, but I know I'll get there eventually. And there are still things that can be done to bridge gaps. But personally as a SMN, if I could unlock the rest of the Group 1 merits to max, I'd be extra happy. I know the same would be said for those that play RDM, WHM, BLU, and even BST. It doesn't always have to be such a negative. JPs are somewhat of what it use to be with once Abyssea, but not nearly the soul breaking grind of 1-75 back in the day before ultra boosts to EXP
