If nothing else it would be nice to have a bit more feedback from Squenix about how they're getting along with a fix. Even if there isn't an ETA it'd be nice from a paying customer point of view to know that they're actually working on a fix.

Yeah, I still can't retrieve it on my character either. Is the "investigation" over?
This definitely wasn't fixed on the 26th, maybe you should start issuing refunds, I've been waiting a month.
Well I think the patch did fix it, just not for people who already entered the codes. My friend entered his code yesterday and it worked fine. Not sure how half the problem can be fixed whilst half of it isn't, though. Seems kinda like our codes are stuck in a pipeline or something. :/
Wouldn't it be possible to just send the hats out manually to people who ask on here until the problem is sorted out? Or to revoke the codes already entered and issue new ones?
I'm currently trying not to level up too much 'cos I'd like to use that on my current job class before getting to level 30. Don't really want to start levelling other jobs yet... Sort of boring killing low level monsters for no EXP for the extremely slim chance that they might drop a treasure chest that doesn't contain a useless temporary item.
How about we just get new codes? I don't see why that wouldn't work.

I've been waiting since July 8th, still no hat, still crap support on the issue, and that leave me with SE doesn't really care about the issue. If they had their fix would have worked. So the game time I have is set to renew by Tuesday next week, I will not pay a company anymore then I have for poor support.
I left this game the first time cause it was slow progression, now I leave due to false advertising and poor support.
Do Squenix staff ever actually check these forums? It really would be nice to be acknowledged at the very least...
Even if it's not to announce a fix, just being here to listen to customers and answer some questions could mean the difference between customers gained and customers deciding not to renew their subscriptions.

Still no fix? This is enraging. I bought the game with the promise of an item that was going to make the leveling/skilling up less of a time sink, and what I find is a complete stonewall of silence on the issue? As someone else said, why don't you just give us new codes? There's no reason this should be taking so long. We should be able to post the code that didn't work for us here and get a new code that will work in response. This is pretty bad customer service. How many people do you honestly think will renew once their free month runs out after this?
Upon noticing that the Destrier Beret is RARE-EX, why don't they just reset all codes that have already been redeemed? Sure someone who already has their Beret could apply their code to a second character, but... is that really such a big deal if it gets the rest of us our one single Beret?
My wife and I have been waiting nearly 20 days now.
We have tried the festive moogles in all three cities at this point.
I very much agree with the fixes that Zerch is recommending. There are good ideas in these forums. I hope we can see some real action on this issue soon.
You have to remember that this problem only came about when SE changed how hats were given out. Previously you could get 8 hats per account. This was apparently a bad thing, and SE changed it in a patch so that you now had to select a character when inputting code, and then could only get it on that hat. And of course they fubar'ed the whole thing, and lots of people couldn't get the damn hats. And still can't.
Main thing here is, they wanted to reduce the number of hats being given out. They're not gonna do anything that might potentially give out even a single extra hat. Why not? Because they're stuck on what they WANTED to do, and think public relations = SE telling people how things are and screw any feedback.
Really annoyed by this Beret situation. I've been waiting since July 17. My husband got his, though. Why isn't it obvious to SE that the codes are bad? Just issue new ones.
I won't be renewing after my free month is over due to this situation, as I can't imagine what happens if you have a more serious problem with your account.
Same thing happened to me. My wife got hers and I didn't get mine. As far as I know they haven't even made any real acknowledgement that there is still an issue with a number of players.
The fact that nothing has been done makes me feel unappreciated as a customer. Each year there's more and more MMOs popping up out there. Maybe it's just time to look into my options.
Hi there. I'm not sure if you needed names/characters of people unable to get the Destrier Beret, but I'm having the same problem.
On a side note - having not played since some time in 2007, I really like the changes you guys have made. It's making playing solo a lot more fun :)
So just got off the phone with support their response is keep waiting after a month of waiting.
I am reaaaally "loving" returning to the game.
It seems like our concerns are being ignored for the most part, at least acknowledge that we haven't been delivered something that we paid for. Very frustrating for me to call support and then be apologized to countless times and ask that I be patient... I'm hard pressed to say this but if this was XIV they would at least told you you couldn't redeem your item by now, that's what I want is a straight forward answer... Not an apology. I doubt this will reach the proper ears though.
I'm going to give up on getting that stupid item and just focus on leveling up my end game stuff. Would have been nice to had if I had it.
Something tells me this issue will be resolved right as my free month is up. It looks like such a fine little hat. And my head is so cold. Square-Enix does not care about clothing my head. They also knocked my apple in the dirt before I got a chance to snack on it. Is it official that any codes claimed after the fix announcement have worked?
My gf was able to claim hers the day after the patch and got hers, I entered mine before the path and I was unable to claim it in game, and am still unable to claim it in game.
Would be nice to get an update. Been over a month without the beret.

I repurchased this game for this item, and its been a month and still nothing.
Kelzitu:Fenrir is the character I added it too. Everything has been registered according to the site, but I check every day at the Windhurst Festive Moogle and nothing at all. I've noticed some threads a Moderator posts:

You guys. SE. Seriously. We've all been patient. I've had the game for over a month now and still no beret. I'm not even going to have any level 30 jobs by the time it's fixed at this rate. Can we at least get an update on what's going on? Because right now it just feels like you guys don't care.
I've been unable to get the beret, It's been a month, and so far, I'm on my second genkai quest and I have four classes past 30 now...
Some of my old friends were using the hat and bragging about how much help it was in lower levels and how it can really help.
Only about 2 of my weapon skills aren't past the level 30 cap, so that weapon skill bonus won't work for me much until I do katanas and throwing... (unless it works on magic, definately need that!)
I seriously can't believe the lack of resolution to this issue. This is one of the worst cases of ignoring the customer that I've ever seen. I wanted the hat that I was promised I would get upon buying the game. Thanks for completely killing the magic of returning to the game with a nice little item to make the doldrums of the low level game faster. This is unacceptable. Not even a single post from anyone "in the know" for how long now? I'm seriously dumbfounded by the stonewall of information.
Have I mentioned I'm flabbergasted by this? The hat is never coming to us - what they're telling us by not saying anything is "lay down another 20 dollars and you can get the hat we promised you the first time."
I do realize it's kind of petty for me to say this "ruined" the game for me - it's more the lack of updates/information despite the constant reminder that this problem PERSISTS that has turned me off.
Don't worry, Seekers of Adoulin is out soon with two new jobs. I'm sure Squenix would love you to pay for that just in time to use your Destrier Beret!
Or you could always pay for a second character!
I'm sure if we all say we'll throw money at them to fix the problem faster then the problem will get fixed faster.
well that just made me laugh submitted a support ticket for this again and they reply with forwarding to feedback and suggestions
I would honestly rather them just tell us "Hey, sorry guys. Can't figure this out. We don't have the resources to spare right now, and there's nothing we can do. Sorry. Sucks, but we hope you continue to be awesome and rock this sweet game, yo!" I'd be upset, but I'd get over it. It's better than not knowing.
Seriously. The sound of silence is what is killing me, because it gives the faintest sliver of hope that maybe every evening when I check that stupid Moogle will have something for me. If they just said "not going to happen," I would be miffed, but I would suck it up and continue on.
Thanks to the person that let me know even buying a second copy of the game would just be a waste. I would hate to have had my words inspire someone to actually try that out, and I didn't know but it makes sense that it wouldn't work with the same character.

There have been a few people who reported getting hats after they had issues a few weeks ago, but I haven't seen anything on these forums that resembled hope recently.
Anyone actually have a resolved case resently?
Haven't heard of any new cases being resolved since they posted that they had "fixed" the issue.

Well I got my beret, but I might have registered the code after it was "fixed". Don't remember exactly when it was. Probably a month ago.
I probably won't even use it but whatever.
That's what I did, but it wasn't a "waste" since I didn't use the same character. I think it's just the Steam version that's broken now... the one that was on sale. Immediately after they said they "fixed" the issue, when I noticed they didn't fix it for me, I decided I was tired of waiting and bought another game from them directly, from which the code did work (on another character of course).
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, as it's a real waste of money, but I am glad I did it back then... seeing as how they still never fixed the issue and my other character still doesn't have the beret. I was starting fresh anyways, so all I really lost out on was the 75% off Steam sale price.
