Depends if you go afk and bazaar. If that's the case: when your items have been purchased by someone, you're still standing around with your bazaar icon up with NOTHING for sale.
Yeah, it used to be a valid reason before satchel and locker. Not that I mind if people run around the rest of the game with maxed out items in their bazaars, but when vanity interferes with my PJ shopping time...
You wanna know something sad, I didn't even realize there was a zone for the circuit. I always saw the arch and just figured it was another window or something like the AH. Honestly after I got a decent speed Chocobo I never bother with the mess after that. If there a mostly unused zone there? Yeah I'd say move it in there.
As was said before, this was a player-initiated method to avoid Jeuno tax, there's nothing SE can "bring back".
On Leviathan it's in Upper Jeuno atm, and I prefer it that way, both as a buyer as well as a seller. Takes less time travelling there and don't have to zone out and miss shouts/yells. The lag (yes, lag is actually the correct term, both for connection delay as well as hardware delay) is about the same, there's not many NPCs in Upper Jeuno in the area where most Bazaars are these days (and there's more NPCs outside now as well).
As for lagging the zone out for people passing through, what is there in Upper Jeuno that people need to do? The only problem I see with this is in Port Jeuno (and possibly Ru'Lude Gardens), but there's not nearly as many bazaars in either of these zones as people claim here. And even without any Bazaars Jeuno would be laggy as hell because people are lonely and love standing next to Horst and Joachim and pretend they're their friends.
Yes on Shiva. With 309 ppl in Port Jeuno, over one hundred ppl are afk bazaaring between the house and the entrance to the street, with the majority around the guide stone. And it's probably more because of the aforementioned 50 character limit, so there will be a ton I don't see. However, it is fun to argue against Tsuki for the sake of it so...
There are less in Upper Jeuno (120 ppl in zone, only about 50 bazaars). I always figures there were bazaars here so the would be picked up by the FFXI Bazaar website. Seems the chap running that site cancelled his subs back in Dec '11 though (shame :( ).
Sure they can.
How?
Well, don't you mention that yourself right there? o_o
Doesn't have to be Taxes though. It could be anything just to shoo people somewhere else.
As for me personally, I don't care much of them as I rarely even check them Bazaars so I wouldn't mind them not being in area I use (though I tend to prefer hanging around at Bastok).
They used to be at Sauromugue Champaign on Fenrir.
Haven't seen any there I think after the Taxes were removed, I think.
Not that I have checked for a while.
It would surely be nice if they still were in a place where the shouts or at least yells will be seen at. That said, I'd still prefer they'd be out of city areas since the game is made just so badly on that regard that issues arise from high number of player characters about. =/
They need to:
A) make the /yell function work in every city
B) make the chocobo circuit function like a hub (walk in from one city, walk out to another)
c) Add NPCs in the Circuit that function like an auction house, but deal only in currency, plates, alex, dice, mirrors etc.
as a percentage, the number of bazaars is higher, and the number of people in that area that are actively browsing bazaars is also higher, because there are fewer other things to do in that area.Quote:

As covered earlier I wouldn't mind a dedicated purpose area (much preferable to an area with monsters in it- you can concievably kill bazaar people by dragging NMs over there), but we really already have the ideal area in the chocobo circuit because it can be accessed from every major city including aht urghan, and its currently a very low traffic area.
They ever implement this? Or just something that slipped into the background again
If they would make it possible to travel from city to city by using the circuit, it would be fantastic for bazaar etc.. Not only that, but the added traffic might actually get a few more people to try racing.
Sadly, I think less and less people are playing, so the need to alleviate congestion has sort of waned.
GuildWork does the bazaar database automatically for FFXIAH now. As long as someone checking your bazaar has GuildWork running, your current location and Bazaar contents/pricing are updated on FFXIAH. It covers all servers that way. Dec. 2011 is when they implemented that feature, IIRC.
On Quetz, people go to shop in upper jeuno, they craft in lower jeuno, and form parties in port jeuno. Don't really notice congestion or lag in any of these zones.
Is there ever a thread that tahn doesn't try to argue? Rolanmart needs to come back. So hard to find people selling actual stuff in their bazaar. It's usually crap like flame geodes or lvl 10 gear. So annoiying.
/sh hey dudes come check out my bazaar with a totally reasonable price on this item scaevola wants, conveniently located right over here at the guide stone, right next to literally 80 other people
I like the idea of a non-player bazaar system so I don't have to keep my computer running ffxi 24/7.
Oh and an increase in AH cap.
I'm thinking:This was a completely random thought i had while reading the thread.
where? the mog house
how?player with AH in mog house (logged in/out)
must select "Open Bazaar" option which locks him in the mog house til he closes it
searching player talks to moogle to warp him to "The Bazaar"
I'm thinking a zone just full of npc's with the player's names
zone: Fort Karugo-Narugo (there's unused teleports there. just lock the outside town part of the zone off)
This made me laugh. Sure seems that way :D
On subject, I liked Rolanmart when it was around. It seemed pretty easy to browse all the Bazaars and it did seem less laggy to me o.O. I have to admit though, that with /yell now, it's nice to still be in Jeuno in case something interesting pops up.
It's was not less laggy, and sure as hell was NOT easy to browse the 32894 bazaars all clumped in one spot. Leaving the city to brows bazaars was stupid, removing the tax and bringing people inside was the best thing ever to happen to Jeuno.
As a former Bismarck resident, I can confirm their fascination with terrible ideas.
Honestly they should just add a zone, count it as part of Jeuno for /yell reasons, and make it an open area for people to shop from other players. It could be a zone just for that reason alone, at most add a few warp NPCs and a hope point. This would give everyone on every server an official shop zone in Jeuno, while shopping you can see yells from Jeuno thus missing out on nothing and allowing a central, out of the way place, where people can go. With that done, no area in Jeuno would be lagged thanks to hoards of afk players, bazaars would be easier to find, and I think the problem would be completely solved.
Yeah I was just meaning a zone used for nothing else, remember, SE probably thinks those zones are meaningful and used by many people.
I would be surprised to see SE make a zone dedicated to bazaarers. Not that it's a bad idea in anyway, just realistically thinking taxes being reimplemented should be a 5 minute task for them.
If they were to do a dedicated zone for it, they may as well rip off the market wards idea from XIV so you don't have to keep a mule logged in 24/7 to act as your shopkeep.
Alha, while I understand you may not have liked the "inconvienience" of zoning out to rolanberry or wherever your bazaars were(I quit reading your posts cause you're always bellyaching about something) jueno having too many people to load all the bazaars is a problem sometimes. Just because you don't like what some people (obviously a majority) doesn't make it wrong. Perhaps stating your opinion such as "I don't like rolan/whateverzonemarts because x" not "no that's stupid, whoever liked this is an idiot rabblerabble" perhaps then more people would respect your opinion then if you quit blethering so much.
Anyway I'm all for tax coming back in jueno to filter out the mules, back during rolanmart days jueno wasn't as laggy with the mules outside and finding items to purchase from people was simple. Most bazaars on servers I hear are in port jueno from the guide stone all the way out towards Joachim, that's a wee bit lame. On my server specifically a chunk of particular ppl bazaar at the guide stone and all thru pj, which a chunk in rulude gardens. Not a big deal til you're practically swimming thru lagmules to get to the magian moogle, or anything in port related. Jueno tax plz.
