Well that's claim and a bold one at that. I'd argue most of us played FF for most of our lives though, so number of playtime doesn't really hold much weight.

I agree. A lot of us here have a lot of FF experience already. I'm agreeing the RPG needs to be put back into the franchise. Maybe semi-real time battle encounters to bring the RPG battling back (Pokemon Sword/Shield & Scarlet/Violet did this with quite some success). SE needs to get on & finish FFVII trilogy. It will be several years when they'll even start working on XVII so they have time but not revenue so they best get on with things.
FF17 is likely already in the works but possibly not active development.
I guess people still think it's gonna be a new MMORPG to replace 14 but I doubt that.
Online gaming is the norm. During the late 90s and early 2000s, games such as PSO were deemed "Daring" or perhaps daunting. In 2024, the most popular titles are online. Fortnite, C.O.D, Marvel Rivals, etc.......
It would behoove SE to shift focus to online gaming (Where most profits lie), as opposed to these single player fads like DMC. What I am saying is, the next FF should be an MMO (Without Yoshi...). Interest just doesn't appear there for offline FF compared to the MMO who rake in money without selling anything.
I do think remakes of the past titles would sell better than any new FF single player game....just my opinion.
Yes, I mean there isn't necessairly anything wrong with that, but it seems like they've taken from it that's what everyone wants. There are still plenty of people out there looking for the "good ol days" when you didn't need nonstop action to get people's attention.
