No, i think when the updates stop a good amount of people will finish up w/e they are working on and move on. 2-3 months later they will merge servers down.
Why do you need a challenge of content that is months old when nothing new will be coming out? You will be lucky if in december of 2016 theres enough people for 2 server. 1 year with no major content updates is a long time to expect people to just chill on a game they have to pay for monthly.
Do me a favor and stop posting completely. Your argument is flawed and you don't have the foresight to see the consequences of what you are asking for. I'll spell it out for you already since you don't seem to get it from my post. If it is already easy as you say.... making it even easier will make it so there is no challenge. It would be like playing Tic-tac-toe. There is no fun in that because the game will come to a draw every time. It was because of things like abyssea that so many people just ended up sitting in Jeuno being bored with the game. God mode is fun for a minute or two, but then it gets boring, because there is no challenge. People play games for the challenge, maybe you don't, but it is part of the definition: "a competitive activity involving skill, chance, or endurance on the part of two or more persons who play according to a set of rules, usually for their own amusement or for that of spectators". You are trying to remove part of the definition. I say {no thanks}. Doing so doesn't put me on a high horse as you put it, it's me not wanting you to destroy the game even more so than what it has been.
I missed the part where leveling was currently a challenge, if i can go 1-50 in 1 hr... what is adding atma gonna hurt. Read my post i said for exp grinding only, not voidwatch, not hnm, not unity/wanted....just exp content. You are under the sad delusion that grinding exp is challenging...
You act like the trolls when abyssea came out and freaked when more than just 3 jobs could finally grind merits. And I dont miss those people at all and am glad they are gone.

A second subjob.
With two subs at 49, we could really change up job combos. For instance, bsts could go /nin or /dnc to dual wield their precious cooldown axe, and also go another sub like /sch to remove status ailments in a fight while retaining shadows. A pup could go both /war and /nin for DD output while keeping shadows for safety, or /war and /dnc for damage plus some self-healing. that sort of thing.
Still overpowering, but a bit less overpowered than ATMA ALL THE THINGS that would make things a bit of a joke.
Come to think of it, as certain battlefields such as ENM60 pulling the strings, and limit break quests with maat restrict your subjob... SE could probably code it so that you could restrict a second subjob for certain battlefields and the like, if they wish certain content to retain difficulty. (or just make new content balanced around two subjobs somehow.)
