mods dont read this thread lol. mpking really has taken on a new meaning and means hmmmm. more players krafting!
##) Arrow burn or go home.
##) Mobs used to find their way back to their area after being trained instead of despawning. Lots of time spent outside of crawlers nest waiting til it was safe to go back in...
##) AoE was really AoE. Other parties mages dieing because of their mobs AoE >.<; or getting slept exiting Kazam on a bird. T_T
##) Utsusemi used to block -aga.
##) /slap really did a /slap. o.O!
-Bul (Carbuncle)
All that stuff really isn't too old, or well most of it. I found a topic one time before with really old notes of updates to this game before it was even released to NA players. I wonder if I can find it again.
Oh and one thing popped in my head.
People curing a crafter used to break someone's crafting so people hid in MHs to craft.
Here we go:

I remember one day (this was a long time ago, but not the true old age that I love to reminisce about- just right after ToAU came out) when RMT was huge and having a really terrible impact on the game's economy (20m NQ Scorpion Harnesses) I gathered a /sh PT to MPK a bunch of them in Korroloka Tunnel. We succeeded, and even pushed them out. It was a tiny victory and of course it didn't really slow them down much, but it still felt nice.
If you want true old school, imagine Valkurm Dunes being overcamped and there not being more than 1-2 people in the entire zone over level 20. Those who were higher level were about 40-50(tops) and just helping out at zones- which was wayyy before mobs despawned.
Things like that don't really happen anymore. I do miss that a bit. Comradery. I really miss 6 man parties, moving to a camp, etc. It just took way too much time to get a group together.
Although I will say I'm able to enjoy the game a lot more in its current form. It's nice to be able to log on for 2-3 hours between work and school and be able to actually do something. Something important to remember is that, although it's great to think back about those days and how much more...fulfilling the game was before (especially if you go way back), I know that I would not want to go back permanently.
Idea;
I don't know how hard this would be to implement, but it would be really cool if every year for the Adventurer Appreciation / Anniversary events SE would roll back the updates and let us bask in nostalgia for a few weeks. After a while we'd remember why all the changes happened, but it would be very cool to do once a year.
That's true old school buddy. :)
Most people don't face the truth that in that economy players could actualy make money.
It was still funto MPK them though. Another one was to "PL" them with spikes on.
