You can beat Shinryu easily without brewing, it just takes two people who know wtf they're doing, really.

And I can see why Shinryu is #1 KO'er of players. I went with my LS mates one time and they kept dying and dying and dying, trying to proc him. It's funny too because one of them, prior to the fight, said "how can he be #1? he's so easy" rofl...

There was no implication that I included myself in that statement. You also need to remember that even if you brew, only one of you (I hope) is using the brew, the other people can still get flattened.

It's still a rather new thing and more people are being able to actually do it so naturally it will be crowded 'even there'.
It's not different from the other NMs that are being 'spammed' for the Empyreal armour and weapons right now. In due time it will settle down, or at least I hope so and am waiting for that myself. ^^;

I'm glad I more or less decided to take a kind of a break, and if I do happen to log in, I will do things outside Abyssea (for example helping a friend through WotG missions and quests, all of them, and gotta say some of the quest battles and the final mission fight can be quite fun with just 3 characters).

I wish people didn't stress so much because of the game. It's supposed to be fun, after all, though it's not like SqEX is making things too enjoyable at times...

The engine was made 8 years ago and is made to be universally compatible with PS2, XBox 360 and PC using the same coding, there's limitations within the engine and limitations with compatibility. Shinryu is a BCNM, the BCNM part of the game engine was programmed 8 years ago.

Don't complain when you're trying to half ass it to avoid sharing drops with others. Period. Get over this blunt crap. JHC, people. You need pld nin war drk sam whm for a slashing proc party. You need thf drg rng whm(insert 2 other jobs if you want them, more than likely a PLD or MNK + another rng or cor) for piercing proc party.

GET OVER BLUNT MNK + WHM. It's not anyone's problem but your own that you're trying to cookie cut your way to drops. I'm sorry but it's that simple. You should be thanking them that it's even an option.

Id say the only thing I hate about shinryu is it takes 10k cruor just to enter the bcnm.
