please give us a way to....

please give us a way to upgrade older gear

like Job Specific Equipment that is time consuming to get such as the Yin Yang Robe perhaps to a +1 item with better stats

and remove the negative stats on gear that isn't exactly easy to get

an example would be Reverend Mail(I cant think of other gear at the moment, but I'm sure many of you can think of some R/E gear you would like the ability to remove the negative stats from and possibly upgrade)
the -MND is a bad stat for WHM Melee and -MP isnt exactly a helper either
and perhaps allow us to get better stats for this gear after

a quest like those that we have to do to upgrade Artifact and Relic Gear would be acceptable

or perhaps a magian trial would also

Using rare items like those in quests would be a solid way to go, much like how you need a Brown Belt for the Black Belt.

Well, you can do this now with Synergy and Abjuration gear. I believe they're going to expand this to other armor sets as well.

However, not all gear are part of systems, but are more or less just random. I'm sure it's more difficult to upgrade random gear. It would be nice to see more New NMs and new quests that don't belong to any system:

Upgrade to Black Belt: Red Belt
A YinYang Robe upgrade
Carby Mitts Upgrade
etc

Is it really necessary to...

Some gear already has upgradability avabable, and some more will be in the future. But it will never be as good as the new stuff. What point would there be in a new update with new items if our old stuff always stayed the best?

Except one thing;

YYR upgrade: No way, no how. I couldn't stand that thing, a MNK robe for SMN. it's partially obsolete now and I want it to stay that way.

Instead, an upgrade for the evoker's ring, which is still standard equipment for all SMN and has yet to be really replaced by anything.
