    Hi

bit of Q tho: do i really need control at 358? My other DoH only has 354, with only off-tool left. Friends kinda suggesting either craftmanship or CP for offtools though, but I'm still undecided when I meld those.

Was fine when I make my i70 hat & 1st main tool for CUL using rotation from this thread:
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-for-new-tools.
At that time, my CUL offhand only melded with t4 craftmanship.

To simplify: does extra 4 control really important?

For 2 star, I did it with 348. So no, you do not need 358, or even 354 to do the turn in items.

You do, however, want to get to 374, if you plan to do 3 star. Following the HQ AF crafting meld posted elsewhere, ATM I am only at 376 with another 6 left to have obtain a complete meld.

You certainly do not need that Control for this to reach 100%. At the time of playing about with a rotation, I had my gears fully melded in preparation for 3 star syths; the requirement for which is 374 Control. The Control is not required to get the Tool but unless you're just getting the tool for 'completion' sake the 4 Control will be required for 3 stars anyway.

    SH2 Basic touch is 100%
SH2 Hasty Touch is 80% (but still feels like 50% because RNG's a bitch sometimes)

Yes it costs CP, but it's also a guaranteed success

wow thanks, it was really panful to watch those silver brocades go NQ on my weaver, looks like my other crafters will have an easier time.

You actually don't need step number 10 of the rotation for 100%. I used the same rotation without great strides for all of my master tools and brought me to 100% HQ every time, thats with HQ mats ofc. Brings total CP needed to 356, which lets you use stone soup instead of HQ Bouillabaisse which is fairly expensive on some servers.

well, it does cost CP and need steady hands, but does not need the ingenuity and at early steps it gives more then careful but not to the point where you would need only 3 progress actions instead of 4

for 3 star furniture it is a must
and generally it is used in 3 star "gear" rotation twice at early steps during "hastying"

sorry, I just have recent opportunity to test OP's macro.

Sad to say that it wasn't working well on me since I'm still short just tiny portion of CP, even with HQ bouillabaise, would probably need max CP meld. I'm guessing the need of melding extra CP on off-tools, which I don't, already max meld CP on other gears.

The other thread however worked great on me since it uses slightly less CP requirement:
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-for-new-tools.
