    Translated - New info from JP game magazine Connect-On (Famitsu)

    Please thank Marc for posting this info, he typed up the info from the magazine that was release today in Japan.

    Translation is not 100% it's my own translation so don't take my word for it, if you don't think I'm correct look it up yourself on google translate and what not.

    Translation in red, my notes in blue.

    ポエムの中に出てきた"7の月"のキーワードは、7月に大規模な改修がある事を想定していたものではない。たまたま、震災の影響で6月中に予定したものがズレ込んでしまった。
    In the poem the 7th month keyword was not meaning July for large scale changes, due to the earthquake (the big one in Japan from March 11th) the planned June just moved to July.

    プロデューサーレターで"夏まで"という部分の具体的な時期は、おおよそ9月末までを予定している。
    In the producer letter “By Summer” means about end of September.

    パッチ1.18のボリュームは大きく、プロデューサーレターだけの説明では、フォーローしきれないので、実装されるシステムの変更ポイントは、パッチまで週1のペースで分けて発表する。
    Patch 1.18 volume is big, and producer letter will not be enough to give all the details, will release more info by pace of 1 a week (? Not sure if im translating right here, looks that way.)

    UIについて、サーバーとクライアント通信部も含んだシステムの根幹からの再設計をやっていて、これが済めば多くのプレイヤーが感じている「なぜ、できないの?」という所の改修ができるようになってくる。
    Regarding the UI; currently working on server and client communication system root remodeling and if this completes they should be able to work on the areas where lots question “WHY can’t they do it?” (Guessing most likely referring to stuff like search functions, linkshell functions, which should have been basic stuff)

    パッチ1.19でマテリアルクラフトシステムを実装する。これも大規模なパッチになっていて、製作レシピについては全入れ替えし、製作物自体のステータスも見直す予定。
    In patch1.19 materia craft system will be put in. This is another large-scale patch and it will change the recipe for all, will also planning to look into all the synth products status.

    パッチ1.18ではオートアタックに加え、敵視のアルゴリズムもすべて変更する。FF11の敵対心のような"揮発型"ではなく、"加算型"の敵視システムになる。具体的には、モンスターを占有してからバトル終了まで敵視は積み上げられていく事になる。
    In patch 1.18 along with auto attack being put in, all enemy hate algorithm will also change. It is not like FF11’s system but more calculation (addition) system. In basic terms the hate is calculated from beginning to end of the battle, will keep on adding up.

    パッチ1.18では魔法の範囲と単体の切り替えをスムーズにする事を目的に、ケアルに調整いれ、ケアルガなどを追加する。
    In patch 1.18 magic AOE/Single target selection will be more smoothed out by adjustment like cure by adding cure-ga spells.

    パッチ1.18で敵視の度合いが確認できるメータ?などを表示する。
    In Patch 1.18 a new meter that will show the enemies hate?? Will be visible (has the ? next to meter)

    蛮神イフリートバトル(仮称)はパッチ1.19で実装予定。
    Ifrit Battle is planned for 1.19 release.

    マテリアルクラフトシステムでは、最強装備を目指せる味付けをしている(する予定)
    With material craft system; looking into (planning) to make it so you can aim for the best gear possible.


    最終装備を目指したいのであれば、モンスターが落とす希少なドロップ品よりも、クラフターが作ったアイテムにマテリアルクラフトを実行したほうが、最終的に性能が伸びるようバランスを調整している。
    Working on balancing/adjustments so for people who wants to get/aim for the best gear: Rather than rare items dropped from monsters, it is better to material craft on items the crafters make, which will increase more stats in the end.

    パッチ1.19以降で、作れる品物をパラメーター別にプレイヤー側で選べるようにする。
    After patch 1.19 (later) parameters on what you can make can be decided by the player (I’m not understanding this part myself.)

    たとえば同じ防具を着る時でも、剣術士と幻術士では有効なパラメーターが異なるが、新システムでは、見た目や適正は同じに、性能だけを違う装備にする事が、同レシピで可能になる。
    For example when with armor gear, good parameters for fighters and mages are different but with the new system, it will be possible to have a gear that looks will be same but the stats can be made different with the same recipe.

    ジョブシステムで実装予定しているジョブは、決定しているものが、ナイト、モンク、白魔導士、黒魔導士、竜騎士、吟遊詩人(ジョブ名はすべて仮称)※たぶん、戦士を言い忘れたと思われる。
    For job system the jobs that are planned and decided are Paladin, Monk, White Mage, Black Mage, Dragoon, Bard (Job names are temporary) *Probably forgot to say Warrior.

    時期については明言できないが、特定の二つのクラスを一定ランクまであげると取得できる、複合ジョブも用意する。たとえば、幻術士と呪術士を両方育てると赤魔導士といった展開もあり得る。
    Cannot say when but planning where you have two class up till certain rank and get a combination job. For example Thauma/Conjurer if you get both up, can be Red Mage (This is just an example so don’t go all into this one…)

    将来的にジョブだけなく、"クラス"自体も増やす予定でいる。
    In the future planning not only jobs, but planning to add more CLASS.

    簡易施設は、冒険者の休息所として、既存のパブリックフィールドに目を向けてもらうための仕掛けとして用意している。簡易施設にクエスト関連の要素を配置したり、その場所自体がクエストの発信所になったりが考えられる。あまりに便利すぎて、冒険者が自国に戻らなくなるを少し心配している。
    Home? Resting area for adventurers is already being prepared. Planning to have quest related features in there, where you can get quests. Worried that adventurers might think its be too useful and not want to go back to their home country.

    レイドダンジョンについて、クリアのルートは複数ある。攻略に要した時間によって、ドロップ品が変わったり、選択したルートによっても報酬の種類が変わる。
    There are several clear routes for raid dungeons, depending on time you spent may change drop items, or choosing with route may also change the type of reward.

    チョコボを含めた、マウントシステムはまだ検討段階だが、システムの根幹に関する問題が解決すれば実装に向けた準備ができる。
    Mount system, including chocobo’s is still being checked but once the system root problems are resolved should be able to work on it towards release.


    イラストで発表した"イービル装備"などは、ジョブ固有のアーティスファクト的な位置づけになる。
    Regarding the gears such as Evil Gear shown in illustrations, those are something like artifacts for the jobs.

    アチーブメントシステムとは?
    The Loadstone
    の冒険者が達成した要素を記録として残した"ヒストリーをさらに発展させたものである、達成状況によって"リワード(報酬)"も用意している。具体的には、モンスター討伐数などにより称号がもらえたり、さらに上の討伐数を達成すると報酬となるアイテムが獲得できるといったもの。
    What is achievement system?
    We currently show the accomplishments adventures made in the lodestone as history, but achievement system goes further. Also preparing rewards for them. For example you can get a title for defeating number of monsters, but if defeated even more getting a reward item.

    吉田氏からは、ForumでのRepには"頼むから定型文にはするなよ"と言っている。
    忙しい時は"検討しています"となりがちかもしれないけど、人間らしさを出すようにと、"機械的に処理"してる印象をもたれない様に気をつけてもらっている。
    YoshiP is asking the forum reps to try not to use same response over. When busy may say “We’re looking into it” but to put more into it so doesn’t sound like a automated response.

    FFXIVというMMOの展望について

    はグローバルに戦っていきたい、そこで多くのプレイヤーを取り入れるべく、今後はランク上げをゲームの主軸から外す予定である。ランク自体をなくすつもりはないが、育成はサクサク進められるようにしていく。この方針に従えば修練値ロストの概念も入れるつもりはない。
    Trying to make FFXIV global, for that to get as much players, in future planning to take out getting rank up out of the games core idea, not planning to get rid of the actual rank, but make it easier to get higher, not planning to …?? SP loss?
    (Not getting what this last part is trying to get at)


    初心者向けのチュートリアル的整備の要素のひとつとして、ランク10~ランク18ぐらいまでの、冒険者向けの新ダンジョンを検討している。
    Talking about plans to add rank 10-18 beginner adventurers tutorial like dungeons.

    PS3版の発売こそが起死回生の"最終タイミング"だと思っている。
    そこへ向けて想像を超えるぐらいガラッと変えようと準備しているものがある。
    Thinks the PS3 release will be when the final timing for resurrection/revival of the game.
    Will make changes that is planned to change the whole idea/imagination.

    I'm so pumped for the changes to the acheivment system, they finally are looking at doing things that act as artificial time-sinks.

    Here is hoping to them looking at Tripple Triad and stuff like Bestiary to flesh out even more content like this.

    I am so glad he brought this up. Now we have an idea on what is happening on the inside and maybe we'll have less complaints about not getting these 'simple' fixes.

    Got so used to it from FFXI... always had friends asking HEY REIN TRANSLATE!!! NEW INFO!! and I know how much NA (all country if I can translate all language lol) wants info on JP interviews and game magazines.

    Like someone posted on my other thread, these interviews and game magazine stuff is not official from SE its from the gaming magazines so they don't usually make it to other countries and some feel that JP people get exclusive info... but same time US games (which is getting more popular and better now these days) also have same stuff, NA magazines don't get translations in JP officially, only thing is in Japan most people now these days can read basic english since they learn in school + English to Japanese translators works bit better than JP to English translators on those auto translators so it's bit easier for them to get the info.

    Just like 90% (excluding trolls) of the community in these forums we are here to see/share our info to improve this game.

    + I'm big SE fan, since FF1... got rejected by SE for translator position over some guy who has no knowledge on games LOLOL. Dunno if that position was for FF14 translator but sure pissed me off... if I can't work for them, I'll do them on my own the best I can... only thing can't get paid... lol so only can do them when I have free time

    Hopefully if they ever have another translation position open you can bring this up and show them you have been working for them all along! All they need to do is to start paying you.
