origional Final Fantasy 14 Game key obsolite?

Hi I have raised quite a few support tickets regarding the original key that came with the game when it first launched. I paid alot of money for the game , but never paid a subscription. I had an old square enix account and had registered the key so it was active.
Now when I heard about the changes and the re-launch I couldnt wait to get back into the game but i was dissapointed to find I could no longer use my old game key and get early access.

Please address this issue as I want to play but don't want to buy the game again.
I AM VERY UN-HAPPY WITH THE LACK OF SUPPORT ON THIS MATTER . THIS IS NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

You've said that the key was registered to your account, so I'd recommend going to the new MogStation and seeing what your account looks like:

Does it show any sort of FF XIV server account there? (if not possibly you used a different username/email?). Old 1.0 accounts that were registered before should have just worked automatically, however 1.0 players only had 15 days of free game time and even with the extra 7 they added later, that free time ran out about 2 weeks ago so right now if you're a 1.0 account you need an active subscription to be able to play.

Thanks, Yes I have been to mogstation, but my account never updated.
Tbh I have given up now. I doubt I will come back to FF, l will just go play something else.

that game key is not obsolete, if you registered it, just go to your account and look for it and activate it. if never used, then make an account and register it, also keep it handy because if you loose your one time password, that key will help unlock your account with tech support

I actually had my key from my 1.0 CE that I never registered. I registered it to my account when 2.0 released and it works.

I'm at work, but as I recall I went to Mog Station, logged in - and there is a tab or option to link or register and authenticator. I clicked that and I think it had me enter the serial to register it to my account.

Unfortunately, I can't log into the Mog Station from work- because my key is at home =-(
