Why can't you discuss botting behaviors on the thread? I would think it would be helpful to know.

Your right... those people who camp in a cave for 4 days straight fighting the 3 things that pop 24/7 are definitely playing but not responding.
either way next time read the post before you decide to respond:
"And for those who say "how do you know they are botting", a bit of youtube searching allows you to watch videos of the bots and see the obvious tells (which i wont discuss on here)."]
just to be clear, bots do follow certain patterns and exhibit certain behaviours which -do- make them noticeable. Especially when they glitch out, which is usually kind of funny.
lol wat normaly gets me is the 10-20 same class/job/race with maybe 1 letter diff in there names running arround all in lvl 1 gear and all pretty much idenictale taking on huge and consistant groups of mobs that never say anything just simply fight for hours and hours on end also they tend to travel in packs the crafting ones r harder to spot
Your failure is in your implications.
You're trying to subtly say that that false positives are high. Not even really relevant to the discussion.
Fact remains that nothing is being done about botters in this game when it IS a true positive.
I had a personal friend(meaning I was physically next to him at times at his desk) who did that for a month on the e-bow in FF11. No bot there, even though he was reported massive times, and even the talk of the town for a while. His success rate was stellar.
You clearly underestimate people to do boring as heck things. The main reason bots don't get "caught" is because it's turns into a witch hunt, where anyone who is even remotely more diligent even if pitiful is suspect, which includes RMT sadly.
Officials have the tough time actually catching a true to life bot, especially when they're strapped for manpower right now.

I have been asked if I was a bot, I wasn't saying anything in game and i was crafting for 14 hours straight, but I was talking with a bunch of bros in vent so it was cool.

i don't underestimate the ability to do boring things. I'm saying if you youtube how these things work you can -tell- very easily if someone is using them because they do certain things that no normal player would be doing. Its not like "oh looks he looks like hes afk and botting", its like "oh look, hes running automatically to a mob a second before it spawns and then into a wall if someone else claims untill another mob pop"I had a personal friend(meaning I was physically next to him at times at his desk) who did that for a month on the e-bow in FF11. things -like- that.
And i'm very wary to disucss anything bot related on here other than to point out that lots of ppl are very clearly using them. Further, I have a feeling if i listed ways to notice a bot, a lot of botters would try to make up BS excuses about it like "i was lagging" or "i had a timer go off every x seconds to hit the sweet spot"
