Is anyone annoyed by the HUGE number of people using bots on this game?

Buying 100 synths worth of mats, hitting "synth all" and walking away for a half hour is the way to go them i take it?

the syste, is the way it is, you cant have it dumbed down too much or it isnt a class anymore

and it isnt getting removed...so dont bother trying to fight for it


new mini games would be nice, more engaging ones that are harder to bot
but that also opens up other problems, such as how long they could take for the sp earned

Let's be real here, crafting isn't a main class in pretty much any MMO. It's a thing you do on the side. Pretty much everyone agreed according to the poll how important crafting is to them. What was it, 5-10% did crafting? Right.

They can try to pass off crafting and gathering as real jobs all they want, doesn't mean the playerbase considers them as real. And until we see actual content for crafters to do (ie never), how can they even be considered a class?

I am not amazed that it seems a huge number of people use bots in the game. I am amazed how many players of the game support botting. These forums generally disgust me anyway but supporting the botting sickens me the most. If anyone was to read this they would assume that many players from the general population are fine with botting. I'm hugely disheartend by the mentality of my fellow players that try and justify an illegal gaming activity. It's NOT ok to bot for any reason!

Proof? And STF is down. But i'm on every day and never see the same ppl crafting in the same places. Also what are they Flooding the market with? i barly can get armor in this game.

Besaid seems to have a lower documented RMT presence than other servers. Look around in Limsa Lominsa. There are at least two botters doing work near the weapons shop on the upper decks.

I think the class quests pretty much define that it is a class and that there is at least that much for crafters to do. Not that I know what the incentives are for doing the class quests or anything, but the rewards are still rewards and botting is a cheap way to get there.

The only justifying here is them trying to pass off more than 60% of their available "classes" as real jobs, and don't include any content for them. What's coming up in June? Dungeons. Any mention of content for gatherers, crafters? Nope.

I'm not defending botting, merely saying take out of the equation the incentive to. Insta crafting normal mats and you can put in their little mini game for HQing. Done deal. Those class quests take up all of a couple hours btw.

When you give them an inch, they get really bold and start coming out of their caves. You see such sympathy for cheating because all the cheaters are testing this game's waters and are about to announce a pool party. Pretty soon you'll be outnumbered as legit players grow tired of the pathetic tolerance of them, and the cheaters will own the game and dictate what is and isn't appropriate.

Yes, it is disgusting. XIV's in danger of being overrun by people worse than RMT. I have never seen a more pathetic group of people leading crafting endgame as I'm looking at when I take a tour of the city corners and world caves.

Hell, now they keep instances on tap and bot in there. Completely pathetic people who should have been shown the door back in december.

An overabundance of bots should be a red flag that the game content is too involved and busy. Crafting, for example, is not difficult by any means, but it is very involved. However, that's all busy work. It's extremely discouraging to legitimate players and encourages people to bot to avoid all the pointless steps just to grind out their crafts.

Boring and tedious = encourages botting
