Allagan Rot is annoying, any tips for getting past it?

I can't fathom how any group would be able to get past Allagan Rot without specifically calling it out in voice chat. If you can't do voice, you should not be doing turn 2. Seriously.

You have to wait until the debuff is 7 seconds, you need to find one of your numerically assigned party members and give them the rot, making sure beforehand that they don't already have the immunity, then they pass it on to another person after 7 sec. and so on.

Every single time, we wipe because one of the TWO people in our party wasn't in voice chat. You need to call out when you have the debuff, call who you're passing it to, and make sure you don't pass it to someone else on accident or the party will wipe. And this happens TWO times throughout the course of the fight. Oi ve.

Is there any way to do this or should we just reject anyone and everyone that wants to do turn 2 but can't do voice, is it that much of a necessity?

Make a Macro saying "I have the rot" and then another saying "I am not Immune" easy peasy

Mark 5 players with 1-5 (and line up in this order), if 3 gets it they run to 4. If anyone but the marked players get it they run to 1. In the event anyone cannot take it at that time its the person with the buffs job to move to the next person to ensure someone passes it on. But yes voice chat simplifies this issue immensely..

Mark your players 1-5, whoever gets first rot brings it to 1, they move down the line til its to 5, swing back around to 1. Not all that hard. Stick a BLM in the 5th slot, make sure your 1st slot is standing forward a little, and have your BLM dash to 1. Works perfectly.

Quoting this again for how easy it makes the fight. Also make sure your healers are not next to each other so that they never need to move unless targeted by ground effects.

    We stack up like this:

    1) BRD
    2) WHM
    3) SMN
    4) SCH
    5) BLM

If you have two melee then you'll need to designate one of them to be a runner to pull it into the ranged. Having BLM last makes sense because they can sprint while moving it back around. In a jam the bard can run into melee to grab it and pull it back if needed.

You know we used to do 50+ person raids in MMO's without raid groups? Without a standard chat channel? Without being able to see everyone's buffs/debuffs? Without threat meters? Without damage meters? Without target-of-target?

...without A LOT of the conveniences that most games come with standard now...and we still beat end-game content that was much, much, much harder than what people are doing with all those tools?

Point is, it's possible to do a boss that casts a curable debuff on people, and not need voice chat to do it. This is a convenience, but not a necessity.

Its a really easy mechanic to get past. If you played wow its exactly the same mechanic they used on Heroic Professor Prutracide. You set up an order of 5 people who will take it stay spread out from each other and call it out on vent when you got it and when your giving it to the next person. We also number people with markers too so they can easily see who to give it to and they are somewhat lined up for easy transfer of the disease. Turn 2 really isn't hard at all.
