Lv40 Scholar Job Quest is soooo hard o.O

What I actually have to do?
I throw DoT on Tonberry and spam Adlo and Phys on the tanker NPc but yet he dies too fast, I can't heal him enough. Also tried with Eos' heal on my hotbar so I would cast her heal then mine yet he dies too.

I also tried kill the adds with Ruin1+2 combo (they somewhat heal themselves so gotta do two or three times) but yet npc dies and fails.

Is there something special to be done? Because I already failed like 8 times T___T

I havn't reached it myself but your gear is pretty ropey. Your weapon is 10 levels below you and is probably the single most important piece of your gear since it dictates spell strength - while that may not be the core of your problem it's certainly not going to help you. Some of your jewellery isn't even for the right class

Upgrade your weapon to the Lominsan Soldier's Grimoire. Not sure if you're high enough rank to buy it, but I would certainly recommend it. Just need seals. Also you need earrings, wrist and another ring that have something to do with your class.

You can also get a level 38 book from a quest and vendor in Coerthas.

The battlemage gear still pwns most of the lv38 gear I've found until now.

I have the basic lv38 book but it has like.... +3 or +4 in Magic Damage and no other decent attributes (like spell speed, crit and int), that's why I'm still using the lv30 one
Still haven't found anything with higher level but still keeping good stats other than the main damage increase.

Yep, earrings, bracer and Storm's ring are no match for the class but it's what've got so far.Unless I get another Pearl Ring and swap, it got a good int/mind.

the fact that you have more magic attack than healing is already a problem in itself I think? That could be why your heals are so weak. I've not gotten to the 40 scholar quest yet but perhaps try getting some armor that's 39+ and give it another shot?

It's all about killing the bug immediately when it spawns. It does massive damage. Keep the tanking npc at a little above 50% at all times. DoT the bug and ruin it down and you should be fine to pick off the others while keeping the tank up.

bug... you mean Tomberry?
By the way, I've tried let tank kill adds and just spam heals on it but his HP goes down too fast, can't actually "keep" him on 50% :-/

I had to do each one at once to see the mechanics then figured out how to combat each of them with the dps pet or the tank pet then finished it on the 2nd round

its actually really easy just do it once to see the mechanics then GG

For the record, i did this with all summoner focused gear, it took a few tries, but did it. Some of the mobs should take priority if you more damage focused. If i remember right, there are ones that heal, knock those out first. Heal the tank guy when you can, but if your heals aren't the greatest, burn those mobs as fast as you can. It was a beast though from what i remember. Just try different tactics if you don't think it's working.

Oh whoops, I confused 40 with the 50 quest! Unfortunately I can't remember the 40 one. T-T
