OP, I for one appreciate your efforts to correct an error. As does everyone else who actually appreciates a game filled with artistry and lore.

Though if we're going to get really technical, "medica" when used as a nominative noun as it is here actually means the person able to perform the healing, not the healing itself; "medica" can also only refer to a female healer (a male would be a "medicus") which creates more problems with the use of Latin by a localization team that doesn't fully understand how to use it... "Adloquium" refers to encouraging words spoken TO someone (it is actually a compound of ad+loquium which gives it direction), and doesn't have any medical connotations unless you want to get all philosophical about it.

Thanks for the thoughtful response! You know, I actually misread Medica the first time I saw it as "Medicus". I agree that using a word with a conjugated ending is precarious. Adloquium was a bit strange, but I didn't think completely off base... encouragement- well okay I can see it.

I generally really like the scholar naming conventions... I liked them in XI, too. I am hoping that as the class is developed, they will include more of abilities that follow this naming convention... I just would like to see them done correctly, because I am very intrigued by the names they choose.

I have quite liked that naming conventions from both XI and XIV; there are countless mythological references from civilizations the world over, especially with regards to monsters. It seems that using Latin for scholar would make more sense given the title of the class, but continuity of their naming conventions would be a nice thing, regardless of which language they choose.
It would probably sound really odd to laypeople if they actually used proper Latin forms for things though. I mean, using nouns for actions just strikes me as odd; I feel that the naming of actions should take a verbal form. How do you conjugate it though? Using a present infinitive form would make the most sense, but then everything would end in -re...

I don't know, it would be interesting to see. Every since Aegolism, I have been pretty open to whatever lol. If nothing else, it's fun to see people try to pronounce.
