SE Mixed Up Names

Sorry to start a new thread on this: but I am hoping it gets seen.

SE mixed up spell names, imo.

WHM Should have Cures/Succor (Name of group heal- not change in mechanics)

SCH Should have Adloquium/Medica (Names of Spells, again no mechanics change)

SCH has the Latin naming convention, while WHM has the general English/Nature sounding names.

I think they mixed up the names on the group heals. Maybe one was pre-exisitng from 1.0... but they should be uniform in the naming conventions for the jobs.

If they don't think it is worth their attention, fine. I just wanted to point it out. It seems a little sloppy to me, and I would like to see it fixed.

It is nitpicky, but still something I noticed. Maybe they did intend to mix it up, if so then fine. It's not a silly thread just because it's not important to you. The forum exist for people to bring up issues. It's certainly not game breaking, but it is something I noticed.

Not every thread has to be a complaint thread asking for class buffs or complaining that some FC in game exploited a bug.

OP, I for one appreciate your efforts to correct an error. As does everyone else who actually appreciates a game filled with artistry and lore.

Though if we're going to get really technical, "medica" when used as a nominative noun as it is here actually means the person able to perform the healing, not the healing itself; "medica" can also only refer to a female healer (a male would be a "medicus") which creates more problems with the use of Latin by a localization team that doesn't fully understand how to use it... "Adloquium" refers to encouraging words spoken TO someone (it is actually a compound of ad+loquium which gives it direction), and doesn't have any medical connotations unless you want to get all philosophical about it.

Definitions of each word:

Succor

synonyms: aid, help, a helping hand, assistance;

Succor does just that, it assists with a heal, and supports with a shield.

Medica

Medicago (family: Fabaceae, the legume family) is a genus of flowering plants, commonly known as medick or burclover. The name is based on Latin medica 'alfalfa, lucerne,' from μηδική (πόα) 'Median (grass).'

Which fits perfectly in line with the White Mage's nature theme.
