Am I Doing Something Wrong? (SMN Question)

I've heard that Fester does 700+ damage, but me, at lvl 44, am only doing 364 without RS or crit. I do wait for Bio to show on the mob before I fester but for the life of me I can't understand why the damage is so low.

Likely because your weapon damage and int are so low.

With around 430 or so int, and a garuda weapon, my festers deal between 620 and 700 or so damage.

So with a relic and allagan/af2, you should top 700.

Don't expect to suddenly have a 700 damage nuke when you hit 50.

Well, i'm 50 and my INT is 400. Despite my Critical Hit Rate (465), my usual Fester damage is 700 with RS. I recommend you to check your equipment and put a priority on your atributes, for example:

INT > DET > CRIT

I have to check my overall int when I get home, but is there a HUGE spike in int gear at lvl 50? Maybe that can explain why my festers look gimped.

You are not 50 yet and not geared yet

ive hit a 1200+ crit before with full Darklight gear and garuda weapon

A quick mention: The archers Raging Strikes skill also helps with those numbers. But yeah, mostly it's what everyone else has said. And yes, the AF gear gives a pretty significant boost.
