Well, not entirely. You're going to have to go through all five job quests to unlock the job abilities and get your AF. Until you do that, you don't really have a functional job, and the level-capped instance fights should teach you something about it.I'd prefer the jobs start back at level 1. I mean, if they add more jobs in the future that rely on current classes, and if someone is already level 50 in the class ......... POOF! You're already level 50 in the job and know instantly how all the mechanics work and everything! An instant "I win!" button for the target audience.
I can also add that this scenario already existed in 1.x. Jobs weren't introduced until patch 1.21, by which time many, many players had classes to 50 and thus instantly acquired jobs at 50. This was on top of completely changing the battle system in 1.20, including a complete revamp of CNJ and THM, so these people had also pretty much just finished figuring out how to play their class again.
